Roses are red
Violets are blue
You like big girls
I know you doWe've got more to love
More heart to give
You've only got
One life to liveImagine chasing roses
Being pricked by all their thorns
While carnations are waiting
Looking ragged and tornThese carnations aren't ugly
They've just been trampled on
By people chasing roses
From dusk til dawnThese carnations have many petals,
Very vivid, very bright
But yet they aren't noticed
They're not even in sightYeah I guess they're "pretty"
Or maybe even "cute"
But compared to the sex appeal of a rose
Carnations seem muteMost chase after a rose
Because it's what the movies say we want
And the TVs and magazines
Roses are all they flauntRose is the symbol of sex
A dozen means you're in love
But imagine being bold enough,
A carnation could fit like a gloveBe bold, chase different
Chase after another flower
Chasing after a rose is basic
And gives it too much powerMeanwhile a carnation
Is waiting for you to choose
But if you wait too long, winter will come
And the carnation, you will lose
