Jon's mum' Marlene stayed for around half an hour before she left to go and see Sharon, one of her daughters. During the time she was with us, I'd noticed Jordan smirking at us and I couldn't wait to sort him out. "What is it with you and the smirking, Jordan?" I ask him, feeling a little annoyed with him. "I know what you two were doing before we got here..." he said in a teasing tone. "And what was that then?" I ask him.
He pretends to think for a moment. "Upstairs. Your cheeks were bright red and your hair is all messy. My poor mum, did she hear you both?" I gasp loudly. He laughs. "I'm just playing with you. You're so easy to wind up, Kelly." I reach over to slap him on the arm. By this point, Jon had just come in from the bathroom. He looked between me and his brother; I just stayed quiet. I'm that lost in my own little world that I didn't even notice Jon had made us all drinks. Jon and Jordan are in the middle of a conversation when I begin to listen in. "So we'll get here around seven. Want us to bring anything?" I hear Jordan say. "Yeah, seven is good. No, just bringing Katie will be splendid. It'll be lovely to see her again." Jon responds. "You're seeing Katie?" I ask, confused. "Yeah they're coming over tonight, you're gonna stay to hang out with us?" Jon informs me. "Yeah, sure. It'll be good to see Katie and see how she's getting on. Will she manage it here?" Jordan looks at me like he's annoyed with me. "If she struggles, then I or Jon can help her or you if you're gonna stick around. I wouldn't invite her here if I knew she'd struggle." He says with a clipped tone to his voice. "Okay you two, knock it off. Katie can tell us if she needs anything and I'm sure she'd say she couldn't come here if she didn't think she could manage, but it's great that you care about her, honey." Jon says as he tries to deescalate the tension between me and Jordan. I sip on my drink. What is it about Jordan that we seem to wind each other up like we do. I feel my phone in my pocket vibrate so I pull it out to see a notification of a message from Katie. 'Hey Kelly, I hope you're going to be at Jon's tonight, can't wait to have a catch up with you. Love K' I smile as I read it through. 'Hi, I'm already here at Jon's. Can't wait to see you later. Love ya, K' I reply back to her. I browse through the pics of her and myself on our socials. "I guess Kelly is actually staying here, from what Katie has said to me in the message she's just sent. She's really excited to see you." Jordan tells me. "Yeah more excited to see me than you huh?!" His expression changes but he quickly turns the frown into a smile. Jon has disappeared again and I'm only just realised as I glance around the kitchen. "Wow, someone is crabby. You don't like me at all, do you?" He asks me. I glance at him. Gone is the smirk and smile, only left is a frown on his face. "I, I don't know what it is Jordan, you just wind me up." He looks at me with a puzzled expression. "I've already said that I'm only playing around, that's just my sense of humour. Maybe I should just tell Jon and Katie to not bother with tonight?" He says as he looks down at the island counter. "Being a little melodramatic aren't we?" I say, rhetorically. "No. I've come to see my brother and was looking forward to hanging out with him, my girl and my brother's girl but if it's going to be hostile then I don't want them to feel uncomfortable." I take my cup to the sink, wash it and then sit back down on the stool. "No, I'm sorry." I fiddle with my fingers on my lap, nervously. "I'm sorry too. I'll try not to be such a jerk all the time when I'm around you." I hear him say, his voice laced with sincerity.
Jon comes back from wherever he disappeared to and is asking what we'd like for dinner. Jordan doesn't say much and I shrug my shoulders. "Are you thinking about cooking or getting a takeaway?" I ask Jon. "I was thinking of doing sandwiches or something like that. How does that sound?" He waits for me to respond. "That sounds good to me. Thank you." Then he looks at Jordan who just shrugs his shoulders and says "I don't mind." Jon looks a little perplexed at his brother. "Okay, why don't you both go and relax over there while I get on with prepping dinner for us." Jon suggests to me and Jordan.
Jordan has already walked over to the couches while Jon kisses me. I then go over to the other couch and glance out of the window which overlooks the garden.
Every now and then I would glance over at Jordan, who was just slouched on the couch and doing whatever he is on his phone.
I hear Jon humming in the background. What a lovely sound he has. The group definitely need to encourage him to sing more prominent leads on their music but I understand Jon's anxiety regarding this.
"Here we go. It's nothing special but it's something to fill us up." Jon puts down the tray on the coffee table in between the three couches. "Thanks, Jon. It looks good." I take a first bite and I guess I didn't realise how hungry I was. After a while, once we've all finished eating, Jordan takes his crockery to the sink and tells Jon he'll he be back in a bit with Katie. His demeanour changed and he looked kind of sad. I don't say anything to Jon about him because I don't want to cause more drama. We just chill out watching movies and snuggling on the couch. I love it when it's just the two of us but I'm looking forward to seeing Katie later on.
