shifting to second gear - viktoria was off racing through the dead city streets of magdeburg. she sped through the city lights checking her mirrors frequently to see ilya on her. rounding a corner, she quickly slowed down. quickly turning the steering wheel, she pressed the gas  hard. forcing the wheel towards the corner. she quickly turned the wheel away, straightening the car before accelerating even more. she watched ilya do it with ease, catching up quickly with her. she groaned before winding down the streets, heading towards the heart of the city. as she rounded another sharp corner, ilya overturned her. she puffed her cheeks out in anger before shifting gears and accelerating, hitting the sweet spot she overtook him in the next turn. their finish marker only 20km away. ilya lost his distance even more as they went up a hill. making viktoria more than five seconds in front of him. at that point - viktoria was cruising. she was in a definite position to win.

she quickly rolled down her window the few feet away she was from the finish marker. the air practically slapping her face at the speed she was going. the city lights reflecting on the car and buildings. nobody was really out, and those who were - weren't conscious enough to understand the cars speeding past them at over 100mph.

viktoria made it past the finish line exactly three seconds before ilya. this was obviously not his best race. she slowed down right as she did, rounding the corner and parking her car. waiting for ilya to do the same.

"what's up big bro" she questioned watching as he wiped his face.

"the fact i let you win" he said chuckling - the day had been perfect. him and his sister doing things they grew to forget about.

earlier that day they had sparred eachother, viktoria had let her brother win - in her words. it was something they had done since they were young. their father bought them matching red boxing gloves. this purchase had caused many broken things in the house. though it had also caused a small rivalry between the two. both of them knowing the exact ratio of win to loses since they had gotten the pair.

then viktoria cooking them both golubsty - specifically lithuanians version balandėliai. the recipe coming from their fathers best friends great great grandmother. it consisted of cooking and the both of them blasting music in the house putting on a concert. though this time of music they both enjoyed.

"you know it's not fair, you actually do concerts" ilya huffed eating a piece of the cabbage viktoria had in her hand.

"and you could too" she said rolling her eyes at the greedy boy

"no thanks" he smiled before pointing their spoon-microphone to viktoria and making her start singing her designated verse.

overall the day was amazing to both of them. it was needed - spending time with each other by themselves. they valued each other too much to ever be apart as much as they did.

"well let's get home before mom and dad start jeepers creepers without us" viktoria said hugging her brother a goodbye before racing off. making sure to check her mirrors and seeing ilya right behind her.

the next day viktoria spent the day with gustav. as much as she said it - he was her other brother. so when she got the confirmation call from him the night before that he was free. she told him to be ready promptly at eleven. she knew he slept in, and could sleep the whole day. so she made sure for him to at least be able to sleep in some. she didn't tell him where they're going, only to wear something comfortable.

so that day she drove to gustavs house, knocking on the door. he soon opened the door, hugging her gratefully before letting her in.
