to the boy's surprise, they arrived at the rendezvous safely - not a scratch on themselves or the car. it was crowded, cars and people were everywhere - yet the staring at themselves, and the car wasn't what they expected. yet viktoria didn't seem fazed, even as she parked and people moved away from the car in almost a fear matter.
"vik! whats up" a man shouted before going over to the group, he was towering over bill. the group hadn't been surrounded by so many tall people until meeting the siblings. it seemed everyone they knew was taller than average, even the man now.
"viktor my man! how have you been" she said hugging him, the man hugged her back his hand too low to toms liking.
"i've been great дьяволенок, you're brothers' with a number of girls" (little devil) he said smiling at the face she made.
"of course he is, here meet my friends" she said before turning the attention of herself to the boys before introducing them. viktor suddenly oozed dominance and respect, his face hardened looking at the boys below him. handshakes and nods were quickly returned to the boys before looking at viktoria.
"why bring them?" he hushed not knowing the game viktoria was playing
"why not?" she said feigning innocence
"you know he's here, he's always down here" he said, "everyone back home saw what you said, they're pretty mad" he added looking back at the group of boys looking around, their innocence oozed. they weren't used the the scene the platonov siblings grew up in, no matter how rich they were. they still grew up in russia - a couple years before the union fell, and had gotten themselves in somethings their pretty-posh-selves shouldn't of.
"well viktor, lets hope they don't start shit" she said, the people around the group - even the boys could tell the tension between the two suddenly got tense and cold. whatever they were mumbling about was important.
"you know they do, and when they do your boys wont be safe" he said, his voice raising slightly.
"you protect them before you protect me viktor, or your life will be on the line before mine" she said shutting down the conversation. she raised her eyebrow for confirmation, viktor nodded slightly before looking at the boys once more before vanishing.
"come on guys, lets go find my brother" she said putting a sickly smile on her face, before walking through the crowd. it would be hard to tell if you didn't look hard, but everyone moved out of her way. at least enough so she and the boys could get through without pushing, which made the boys wonder why was she so important?
"what were you talking about, it seemed important?" tom asked as he walked next to her, she looked at him with a look in her eye.
"nothing really, viktors an old friend. he knew ilya before me, showed ilya more of russia than our parents showed. in turn he met me, and vowed to protect me per ilyas requests. he doesn't like me going to these races. cops, crime and criminals, all that stuff run through this community like rats run through new york." she explained, tom began to be confused on what she meant. more of russia? vowed to protect her?
"though with that, if anyone tries to mess with any of you or gives a vibe please get viktor, me, or ilya and i really do mean that" she said sternly, she knew the boys behind her weren't listening - they were too busy looking at cars.
"i will" he said, he didn't need to question her because the voice she held told him not to. she smiled at him before they stopped at a group of girls surrounding a guy. though the guy turned out to be ilya.
"so many skanks ilya, could've done much better" she said smiling as the girls glared at her
"why are you here viktoria? and with them? are you fucking stupid." he said, the boys didn't have to understand what he was saying at the last bit because the anger the hung on his words told them enough.
"maybe a little, don't worry brother viktor has got them" she smiled
"don't you dare go by him viktoria, your life is more on the line than mine or theirs" he said staring at the boys. though they were confused, the boy they hung out with now was looking as if he wanted them dead.
"i know that! everyone here is acting like i'm some fucking fragile baby. i can protect myself, and you should know that the best" viktoria yelled, causing the people around her to stare.
"look at something else or your fucking head will get ran over" ilya yelled, causing the crowd to keep talking among themselves.
"if you could, why couldn't you leave? i dont need you to go into shock and forget how to defend yourself" he said, he didn't mean in a bad way but his concern was genuine. the boy brings out the worst in viktoria, and the boys shouldn't have to see it.
"i won't" she muttered
"well good, i'm up next - try not to scare the skanks for me" he smiled before kissing her cheek and greeting the boys.
"vikkie! are you racing tonight?" a small boy with a thick russian accent said coming in front of the girl. the boys looked shocked someone this young was even here.
"nikola - my baby! how have you been? i don't think i am, do you want me to?" she said picking up the boy. she had honestly considered her son. he was the son of ilyas "friend" - kolya. though kolya was more busy messing with girls and racing than caring for his own child.
"please!" he said kissing her cheek making her smile even larger than it was
"whatever the prince wants" she hummed pinching his cheek, "you want to meet my friends" she said seeing the confused looks the boys held.
"they look weird" he mumbled
"kol'ka thats not nice" she said
"now this is my friend tom" she smiled watching as tom introduced himself and shook the small boys hand, "this is bill, tom's twin" watching how bill complimented nikola's shirt making him beam with thankfulness. "this is gustav, i'm sure you'll like him - he plays the drums" she said making nikola beam and start asking questions. which gustav happily replied to, before viktroia cut them off to introduce georg, "you can ask later, this is georg", georg waved his hand and was about to say something before nikola complimented his hair.
"tom has been staring, is he your boyfriend" nikola teased trying to whisper but failing horribly, causing the group to laugh and tom fluster up.
"maybe, tell him to ask me out and he might" she whispered and nikola nodded violently, that would be his mission for the night.

this book is giving my living nightmare and i kinda hate that, but it eludes to drama which i know most of you are probably dying for.
