•❅───✧❅✦❅✧───❅•The door opened and standing oh so majestically with his stupid hair was Thorin Oakenshield, the King under the mountain, the company's leader, the one person I needed to impress. Why did I have the feeling he wasn't going to like me?
"Gandalf." Thorin greets in a certain tone that sends chills down my spine. "I thought you said this place would be easy to find. I lost my way, twice. I wouldn't have found it at all had it not been for that mark on the door." I wouldn't put it past him to not ask for help.Gandalf shuts the door behind Thorin and all the dwarves bow at his presence. Bilbo pushes through the crowd, entering the hall.
"Mark? There's no mark on that door, it was painted a week ago." Bilbo exclaims.
Gandalf sighs before addressing the dear hobbit, "There is a mark; I put it there myself. Bilbo Baggins, allow me to introduce the leader of our company, Thorin Oakenshield."
Thorin steps towards Bilbo with stark judgment in his eyes as he looks the hobbit over.
"So, this is the hobbit. Tell me, Mr. Baggins, have you done much fighting?"
"Pardon me?"
"Axe or sword? What is your weapon of choice?"
"Well, I do have some skill at Conkers, if you must know, but I fail to see why that's relevant."
"Thought as much. He looks more like a grocer than a burglar."
The dwarves laugh at Thorin's jest and that's when I decide I'm done letting these dwarves and wizard walk all over Bilbo.
I push my way through the crowd to stand in front of Bilbo with my arms crossed over my chest. "Bilbo here has let all of you dwarves into his home. Lucky for you, your majesty, he's a lot more polite than I am. So let's get something straight here, you cannot just barge into someone's home, someone you quite literally don't even know and insult him!" I exclaim, throwing my hands up.
Thorin opened his mouth to respond but I quickly cut him off, "The last thing you want, Thorin Oakenshield," I step forward to point a finger into his broad chest, "Is to make me angry. Bilbo clearly has no idea what on Middle Earth is going on here so you best quit the insults now before you make an enemy out of the only other person besides your company who actually wants to help you. Royalty or not, you will not treat him like this. Unlike Gandalf here, I refuse to allow such ignorant behavior." My chest was heaving and I can't say I'm sorry for letting my temper get the best of me. I'm sure I'd regret it later but Bilbo deserves more respect.
