Dear lovely readers,

First of all, welcome to this fanfiction! I am so glad you are here. :) This story is based on a Netflix Original: Voltron Legendary Defender. I am seeing where the story takes me, and I hope I am able to do Prince Lotor justice.

I do not own any of the characters you'd find in the series. However, I have created some of my own like (Y/N) and others that you'll meet as the story progresses. Please be aware that this will be a FEM!MC, but you can change the pronouns around as you wish 🫶🏻

I sincerely hope you enjoy my story: "Juniberry Dreams | Lotor X Reader | Voltron Fanfic"! :)

(and feel free to check out some of my other works!)

Third Person POV | 10,000 years ago:

The soft glow of distant stars painted the night sky as Prince Lotor and Princess (Y/N) found themselves on a secluded balcony, away from the bustling activities of the palace. The cool breeze carried whispers of adventure, mingling with the scent of night-blooming flowers.

Lotor leaned against the railing, his gaze fixed on the celestial canvas above. (Y/N) joined him, their shoulders brushing lightly as they both looked up at the twinkling stars. Lotor gently grasped his hand around hers, and he smiled as he looked down at her.

"I'd like to show you something, my love." Lotor pulled (Y/N) to the edge of the balcony, and he started climbing.

(Y/N) was alert, but looked at him quizzically. "What are you doing, Your Highness?" The edge of her lip curved up into a small smile.

Lotor rolled his eyes and ushered her to grab his hand. "Quit it with the formalities, we're married now. Follow me."

The palace gardens stretched out beneath them, a mosaic of moonlit pathways and blooming flora. Lotor and (Y/N) stood at the edge of the rooftop, her eyes fixed on the sprawling landscape below. The night air was crisp, carrying with it the faint scent of dew-kissed flowers.

"This is beautiful," (Y/N) whispered as she took in the view from all around. "Your planet is so beautiful."

Lotor turned to her, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Indeed, it is. It has taken years for the Empire to become what it is. I hope we will know peace."

(Y/N) nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of wonderment in Lotor's words. "Do you believe we will have peace soon?" she asked, curiosity gleaming in her eyes. She had known of Prince Lotor for several years, but never had she gotten to know him prior to their union.

Lotor's expression softened, his eyes reflecting the starlight. "Truthfully, I am not sure," he replied. "The beginning of our conflict has been lost in time, and we are continuing what our ancestors began." He clasped her hand. "I pray it will end for the sake of the future of our people."

As they continued to gaze at the stars, a comfortable silence settled between them. The night seemed to wrap them in its embrace, cocooning them in a moment of peace and serenity. (Y/N) could not help but compare the beauty of planet Daibazaal to her homeland, planet Altea. She missed her home heart-achingly so. How she longed to see her family again.

"Thank you for sharing this with me," (Y/N) whispered, her voice carrying a touch of vulnerability. "I needed this."

Lotor turned to her, his eyes filled with warmth. "No, thank you," he replied softly. "For reminding me that amidst the chaos of our worlds, there are still moments of beauty worth savoring."

Their eyes met in a shared understanding, and (Y/N)'s gaze faltered slightly. She knew that the state of their world was worsening. Tensions between their peoples were growing, and she feared what would follow in the coming days.

Lotor pulled a Juniberry flower from his right breast pocket and handed it to (Y/N). Her eyes sparkled, and she let out a small gasp.

"Oh Lotor," she sighed. "Where did you get this?"

Lotor smiled at her, pleased to see that her mood had lightened, even if it was only slightly. "I had some soldiers fetch some seeds before we were officially engaged. I thought you would appreciate a little reminder of home. They've been growing for weeks, and this was the first to bloom."

(Y/N) held the flower close to her nose and sniffed. Lotor could see the faint glistening of her eyes and she closed them and sighed.

"I know our situation is not ideal, but I vow to you Princess (Y/N), I will do my best to be the best husband I can be for you."

(Y/N) opened her eyes and nodded slightly. "I appreciate it, Your Highness," she said shyly. She was not used to him yet, but she hoped that they would build a good life together. She knew that she could grow to love Lotor if she allowed herself to. She would pour all she had into their marriage and work out diplomatic peace between their planets.

For a while, they simply lay there, drinking in the beauty of the night. The world felt distant and serene as if they were suspended in a moment outside of time. As the night deepened, Lotor could hear his wife's soft, slow breaths as she lay beside him. She held the flower close to her chest. He frowned and pulled himself closer to her side.

He was heartbroken knowing that he would have to betray her soon.

A/N:

I'm planning on going more into this once I am either done with my Keith X Reader or when I feel in a slump. I've been meaning to make a Lotor fanfic for a while now, and I was inspired and had an idea, so I just went for it. I made some notes about how I'd like the story to go, but I would love to hear your ideas, too!!

QOTU: What is something you would like to see in this fanfic?

please leave your answers here ;D
