Was this what it was like to float on a cloud? Cause if it is... I never want to come down.
I think I spent hours last night going through all the photos from the other night of me and Easton.
It was one of the best nights of my life, one I haven't had in a while. Yet, my heart doesn't know if it can trust Easton. I think it's because of his sudden change. As long as I have known him he has been this shut out person who wants nothing to do with anyone.
But everyone deserves a second chance. And so far, he has proven he is worthy of one.
I never expected to fall this hard for him, I have every reason to not like him.
At least I know I have Daisy's blessing. My best friend has the kindest heart in the world, and she understands my feelings towards him, and encourages it.
My phone rings from my nightstand. It's a weekend so I assume it's Daisy and pick it up without looking at the caller ID. "Hey babe." I reach over and grab an apple from my counter, when I'm greeted with silence, I raise my brows. "Daisy?"
"Uh no it's me, Easton."
Oh my gosh. I just called Easton 'babe'. Now is the time I wish the earth would swallow me. "Oh- I'm sorry, I didn't look at the caller ID." I say, my tone dripping with nervousness. "Um, what can I do for you?" Really Gracie?
"I uh- I wanted to know if you were busy today... it's fine if you are but I have nothing to do so I wanted to call you?"
My face lights up with a small smile. Hearing Easton become shy for me might be the highlight of my year.
"Uh no I'm not busy at all. Just finished cleaning up and was planning on bringing my show, but I'm sure whatever you want to do is better."
He chuckles on the other line. Goodness, I feel dizzy. "Well I was thinking we could go to a drive-in movie- their showing a movie that my brother says is really good and-" He starts rambling on and on about the movie- and not once do I interrupt him until he is out of breath.
"I would love to go. East." I say in a whisper when all I can hear is his breathing.
"Really? Great uh cool, I guess I'll pick you up?"
I smile. "Yeah, you can pick me up."

Easton ends up bringing a truck with a bed in the back for us to watch the movie comfortably. The whole way he doesn't stop talking about the movie and how Blake loved it. I watch his side profile the entire time with a smile.
I've been able to watch him a few times, but never this close, never like this. This was considered a date. And I had never pictured myself on a date with Easton Wells.
"They have snacks there, but are you hungry for a meal?" He leans one arm on the center console, making me get a whole close up on his arm, the muscle I know he worked hard for in the gym, the nice expensive watch that sits on his wrist.
