"Thank you. Thanks, all of you. For saving me." Dani looked to group of unlikely friends. They hadn't known each other long, but they all knew they were family and always would be.

"Are you kidding? You saved us." Roberto scoffed, stretching his sore back. Illy had finally reciprocated his feelings and the two were closer than ever.

"Hey, guys. The dome's gone." Sam threw a rock flying straight the gate, his arm wrapped around Athena's waist holding her up.

"So we're free?" Rahne asked her face lit up at the possibility her and Dani could live happily.

"Reyes always said the nearest town... is 20 miles away." Dani looked to her girlfriend adventurously.

"She could be lying. Shall we find out?" Illyana shrugged smirking victoriously.

"I've been hearing voices within a few miles for the past 2 years, why do you think I was set on getting us out." Athena laughed breathily, the others looking to her gratefully.

"Besides, I have some parents to kill. Again." Athena earned a laugh from a few of the mutants, Sam kissing her lovingly on the cheek.

Sam and Athena split off from the others as they begin leaving the compound, Illy and Berto linking arms happily.

"I could introduce ya to ma family, if you wanted 'course." Sam leaned down to talk to Athena the pair linking hands as they walked out.

"Wanted? I'd love to Mr Guthrie." She looked up at him admiring the fresh scars along his face.

The group inhaled a small breath as they crossed the gate that had kept them trapped for the past few years. Roberto whooped in celebration, Illyana snickering at the boy.

Suddenly, Athena cried out dropping to her knees beside Sam, her mind invaded with hundreds voices. She tried to make out her friends voices in the mix, unsuccessful as the group of mutants tried to help her. She squeezed her eyes shut trying to focus,
