Chapter 12

"I just need to get some stuff for Eunbyeol, you don't need to come"

Mirae said to Seokhoon worried that he might be tired.

"I want to come don't worry I'm not tired"

Seokhoon said reading Mirae's mind and smiling at her assuring her he was fine. Mirae smiled at him as the two headed outside to go get the things for Eunbyeol.

"Should we get tteokbokki for her to eat?"

Mirae asked Seokhoon as they passed a restaurant that was making tteokbokki.

"Yeah let's get takeout and go back to her"

Seokhoon agreed with Mirae and the two headed inside. Mirae started to order what they wanted while Seokhoon looked at her.

"There you two are. You know I haven't seen the two of you in ages."

Mirae heard someone say as soon as she finished ordering. She could recognize that voice anywhere, so she wasn't really surprised when she turned around and saw Seokyung standing and smiling at the two.

"Can I join you two just like old times?"

Seokyung asked looking at the two.

"Seokyung we really have to-"

Mirae was about to say but was interrupted.

"So you don't even have time for your best friend anymore."

Seokyung said wanting to guilt trip Mirae into having a meal with her. Mirae fell for the trap and looked at Seokhoon silently asking him if it was okay that they sat and had lunch with Seokyung. Seokhoon nodded indicating that it was fine with him. Mirae believed it would be fine after all Eunbyeol was safe at her apartment. The only person who could come there was her mother and she wouldn't do much to Eunbyeol. Thus she decided she should have the meal with Seokyung. What she didn't expect was the meal to be awkward and unfamiliar.

"How have you been?"

Mirae asked Seokyung wanting to start a conversation.

"Good"

Seokyung simply replied. Mirae noticed how the girl wasn't interested in talking to her at all but instead was more focused on her phone. But then why did she want to have a meal with them in the first place if she didn't want to talk?

"Seokyung ah are you angry at me?"

Mirae tried to start another conversation.

"No"

Seokyung replied with one word again. Mirae looked at Seokhoon silently asking him what was going on. Seokhoon just shrugged. He was confused as well as to why Seokyung was being like this.

"Ok Seokyung you don't seem to be interested in sitting here with me, so I'll be leaving"

Mirae finally stood up and said.

"Well weren't you the one who wasn't interested in talking to me first?"

Seokyung said not moving from her place.

"What do you mean?"

"Well you sided with everyone else and left me alone. So aren't you the one who should be apologizing to me?"

"Joo Seokyung! What has happened to you? I hope you come to your senses soon. Until then don't come in front of me again"

Mirae said to Seokyung before leaving the store with Seokhoon following her. Mirae had had enough of Seokyung she knew she couldn't talk to the girl until she came back into her sense again.

"Are you alright?"

Seokhoon asked Mirae worried for her.

"Yeah I'm fine. Let's go Eunbyeol must be waiting for us"

Mirae smiled at Seokhoon and the two headed back towards Hera Palace.

"Ha Eunbyeol, do you want to have something to eat now or later?"

Mirae called out to Eunbyeol as soon as she entered the apartment. When she got no reply she headed to her room to check if Eunbyeol was there.

"Seokhoon, Eunbyeol isn't here. You don't think Ms. Jin found her do you?"

Mirae asked Seokhoon once she couldn't find Eunbyeol anywhere.

"I think we should go tell my mother now"

Seokhoon said to Mirae realizing this thing wasn't in their hands anymore if Ms. Jin had really taken Eunbyeol. The two ran to the penthouse to inform their mothers about the situation. Luckily for them Eunbyeol's mother was also there.

"What..what happened to Eunbyeol?"

Cheon Seojin asked the two.

"She called you yesterday and tried to tell you right?"

Mirae asked the woman who finally realized that why her daughter had suddenly called her.

After that things started happening to quick for Mirae's liking. Oh Yoon Hee called Shim Suryeon and told her she was following Ms. Jin which led to Eun Sook, Seojin and Suryeon to leave to after Eunbyeol and Yoon Hee. Mirae messaged Rona telling her what was happening before going to Rona's apartment with Seokhoon to be there with her. Little did Mirae know things were about to take a quick and drastic turn. Something was going to happen, something that Mirae least expected.
