Is this Forever?

Chapter 3

Mirae really did not want to go back to school. She wanted to stay in her room curled up in her bed but then her mother was right, Logan wouldn't her to completely stop her life after he left. He would want her to continue her life just like before. Thus Mirae ended up going to school.

As Mirae was waiting for her drink while standing in front of the vending machine multiple thoughts were roaming inside her head. Just like she was sure Min Seol Ah didn't commit suicide she was sure this case was also a case of murder, the signs were much clearer this time. And there was only one person that came to her mind when she went through a list of people who were more likely to murder Logan: Joo Dan Tae. But the former owner of the penthouse was in prison so how could he have done something from in there? Mirae sighed before picking up her drink and heading back to class.

"Yah don't you guys have anything else to talk about?"

Mirae said as soon as she entered the class and heard Jenny asking Seokyung why Rona didn't get the recommendation letter. Seokyung looked back at her and smiled glad to see her best friend having her back.

"Kim Mirae are you also going to side with her? She got the recommendation through cheating"

A girl asked Mirae who rolled her eyes before responding.

"Were you one of the judges who decided Seokyung should get the letter?"

Mirae started walking closer to the girl. The girl shook her head clearly shocked that Mirae answered her.

"Then how could you decide if it was cheating or not? I repeat don't talk about stuff you don't have any relation to and focus on getting in a good university, I heard you didn't get the recommendation letter"

Mirae smiled at the girl and walked to her seat not looking at anybody. Mirae knew she might have gone too far but honestly she didn't care anymore. Her classmates had nothing better to do other than point out other people's flaws and Mirae was getting sick of it. They needed to know they weren't all perfect as they thought they were.

"Bae Rona, are you sure you won't be applying for any university? Because if you change your mind you could always use my notes for help"

Mirae said to Rona who had just entered the class and sat in front of Mirae.

"Thank you I'll keep that in mind."

Rona smiled at her friend. Rona still wasn't sure if she was going to apply for SNU or any other university yet but seeing everyone there for her made her feel really happy.

"How are you?"

Mirae heard Seokhoons voice from next to her and turned startled.

"When did you get here?"

Mirae asked Seokhoon a smile making its way to her face.

"I've been here for quite some time"

Seokhoon said leaning his head on his hand as he continued to look at Mirae.

"Oh I didn't notice you"

Mirae said now fully smiling. Something about Seokhoon made her happy. The happiest she ever was.

"Want to go watch a movie tonight?"

Seokhoon asked as he continued to look at the girl who had invaded his mind all the time.

"Do I get to choose what we watch?"

"Don't you always?"

"Yeah I do...well today we'll watch whatever you want to"

Mirae brightly said to Seokhoon who smiled at how happy she looked at the moment. He always wanted to see her like that, smiling this brightly all the time. Just then he noticed Seokyung talking to someone and looking shocked. Mirae also turned to her best friend wondering what was up but the two got nothing from Seokyung who simply left the classroom and when she came back she didn't make any eye contact with the two so they couldn't even ask her during class.

"Seokhoon and I are going out for a movie tonight so I don't think I can do tonight"

Mirae said to Rona as they were walking towards the penthouse with the twins in front of them.

"You've seem to have forgotten me ever since you started dating Seokhoon"

Rona said acting like she was upset.

"No I have not we went out for shaved ice just two days ago and then..."

Mirae stopped when she saw someone in the penthouse she never expected to ever see again.

"How is he out of prison?"

Seokhoon asks his mother who also looked shocked before glancing back at Mirae to see if she was fine. Mirae on the to her hand could see Rona seemed anxious and grabbed her hand assuring her they wouldn't let anything happen to her. Throughout the conversation the family was having Mirae was stealing glances at Rona who seemed to get more anxious every second. As soon as Mirae made a plan to leave she heard her name getting called.

"Ah Kim Mirae, I haven't seen you in so long, you look different. Oh I also heard you've gotten quite close to my son, haven't you?"

Joo Dan Tae said to Mirae with his sick smile on his face. Mirae really didn't know how to answer or what to say. She was glad that Seokhoon at once came closer to her blocking her from his fathers view and Shim Suryeon told him to leave. Mirae hated that man with every single vein in her body. But more than the hate she was really scared of him as well. To her someone who had tried to kill a human was not a human himself or herself.

"Are you okay?"

Mirae asked Rona as she took her pills to calm her down. Rona nodded mustering a small smile. Mirae knew Joo Dan Tae's presence affected Rona more because of the past she had with him.

"Maybe you should go home and rest for now. And Bae Rona don't worry ok nobody is going to let him do anything to you ok?"

Mirae comforted her friend smiling at her before she got up to leave. Mirae looked at Rona's retreating back hoping she will be fine.

"Are you okay?"

Seokhoon who was sitting in the same room finally asked Mirae. He had been worried for her but understood that Rona was more important at the time.

"Yes, I'm fine. Just a little shocked but I'm fine don't worry"

Mirae smiled in a way to assure him she was really fine.

"The real question is how are you?"

Mirae asked the boy sitting next to him and looking at him with worried eyes.

"I don't know what to feel, I can't trust him anymore not after everything he did"

Seokhoon said interlocking his hand with Mirae's to feel some comfort.

"I won't let him hurt anyone else, especially not the people I love and care about"

Seokhoon said with the same look he used to have when he bullied someone, the cold look that made hi look intimidating and scary.

"You're not alone, I'll be there with you helping you with every step in your life"

Mirae smiled at Seokhoon, which caused him to smile before pulling her in a tight hug.

"What would I do without you?"

Seokhoon asked no one in particular before kissing the top of her head.

"I guess you'll never know because I am never leaving you"

Mirae said tightening the hug and silently hoping that what she just said was true and that the two never have to separate from each other.
