Is this Forever?

Chapter 7

"Why would you put your phone in Eunbyeol's pocket? That's like screaming that you were the one who did it? Did they not think that?"

Mirae asked Rona who was telling her what happened at the test.

"Exactly! Like if I had to sabotage her I wouldn't use my phone for that"

Rona agreed with Mirae.

"By the way, will you tell me why you didn't show up during your turn?"

Rona asked Mirae who smiled sheepishly.

"It's a very stupid reason."

"I want to know whatever reason it is"

Rona said looking at Mirae wondering what had happened. Mirae sighed before telling Rona everything.

"Did you really give up your dream university just for a boy?"

Rona asked Mirae looking at her in surprise.

"Well you see... I was... you know... yeah I did"

Mirae tried explaining herself but failed miserably.

"I don't even know what to say"

Rona shook her head.

"Well I wasn't going to go anyway, I mean you're not going, Seokhoon's not going why would I go then?"

Mirae said looking down.

"You do know that you don't go to university for people, you go because it's good for your future."

Rona said as Mirae nodded her face still down.

"Well now that its happened we can't do anything, we shouldn't cry over spilt milk should we?"

Rona said ending the topic.

"Eomma where are you going so early?"

Mirae asked her mother as she saw her mother already leaving before she even started breakfast.

"I need to go talk to Oh Yoon Hee about something"

Her mother said before kissing her head as a goodbye and leaving. Mirae looked at her mother leaving the room. This wasn't the first time her mother had left hurriedly saying she had to meet Rona's mother and every time it happened Mirae got confused. Before when she left like this she always used to say she was going to the twin's mother but now she always said she was going to Oh Yoon Hee. Were the two planning something? Mirae shrugged to herself knowing there was no way she could find out what her mother was hiding from her so there was really no use thinking about it either.

"So you're mother asked you why you didn't give the test?"

Mirae asked Seokhoon while the two were on their way to school.

"Yeah I told her why, my suspicion was correct, my father had bribed someone to make sure we both got into SNU easily"

Seokhoon said to Mirae looking at her.

"How did you find out?"

"Seokyung told us"

Mirae sighed when she heard her name.

"Seokhoon ah how is she?"

"She's, I really can't say. I don't know what really changed her"

"I think I'll come to talk to her today after school"

Mirae said more to herself than to Seokhoon. Seokhoon nodded agreeing that that was a good idea.

"Where is Jenny going?"

Mirae asked Rona sipping her drink as the two watched Jenny walk past them with a bag in her hand.

"I don't know, should we go talk to her about the test, I wanted to ask her why she didn't give it properly"

Rona said to Mirae looking at the girl who was now biting the straw, as she was lost in thought.

"I think we should talk to her, let's go"

Mirae said throwing the empty container and following the girl.

The two girls followed Jenny trying to get closer to her to talk to her but the girl ahead of them was almost running. Mirae was confused why she was going to the rooftop and shared a scared look with Rona before the two quickly ran towards the rooftop praying that Jenny wasn't doing what they thought she was.

"Yoo Jenny, come down! What do you think you're doing?"

"Mirae shouted as soon as she spotted the girl near the edge before running closer to pull her back.

"I can't take I anymore, I'd rather die than be bullied again"

Jenny struggled to go back to what she was doing while Mirae and Rona held her down.

"What's going on why would you get bullied again?"

Rona asked the girl with a worried look on her face.

"How do you live like this? How do you live knowing your parent murdered someone?"

Jenny continued to cry but stopped struggling.

"What do you mean?"

Mirae asked the girl sharing a confused look with Rona.

"My father murdered somebody"

Jenny wailed. Mirae looked at Rona as the two silently communicated with each other. Right now wasn't the time to ask the full story they needed to calm Jenny down.

"Don't worry no one is going to find out, we won't tell anybody"

Mirae assured the girl while Rona nodded.

"Seokyung already knows"

Jenny said looking at Mirae. Everyone knew if Seokyung knew something that meant the whole school knows.

"Don't worry we won't let the school step on us anymore"

Rona said to the girl pulling her in a hug while Mirae was lost in her own thoughts. If Seokyung knew that could only mean one thing that she told Jenny about it. Why would Seokyung do that, to eliminate all possible competition. Mirae sighed. She needed to talk to the girl and ask her what was going on. Why was she being like this?

Putting her thoughts aside for a moment Mirae focused on calming down Jenny as well.

"Thank you both of you, I would have done something terrible"

Jenny said as she drank the drink Mirae got her.

"What are friends for?"

Mirae smiled at the two girls as they sat back and talked about random things during the free time they had before heading back to class.
