😜Sookai- Finally Us

Kai was nervous as he held a red rose and a small loaf of sweet bread.

Him and Soobin had been friends for years. They've always had a flirty touchy relationship but he figured that was just for fun. He had always loved Soobin. He knew it from the moment he saw him. His best friend, Taehyun, insisted Soobin felt the same way but he was always too scared to ask.

Over the years, he's tried to see how far he could push the flirting. He tried to kiss him on several occassions but always played it off as a joke when he got rejected. Soobin seemed to play the same way but Kai also found himself too scared to actually go through with a kiss.

Taehyun joked they were the same people. He joked they should get married. He tried to push them together for years but nothing ever happened. After one last desperate plea, he begged his best friend to get it over with already.

What finally made it click in his mind was asking himself if he was okay with Soobin being just a friend for the rest of his life. He wasn't. He wanted Soobin to be his and that would never happen if he didn't try.

So here Kai was. Standing outside of Soobin's apartment door with a rose and a loaf of sweet bread. He was nervous as hell waiting for him to answer the door. The longer he waited, the worse his nerves got. He debated on giving up entirely until he saw the door open. "...Hi Soobin."

"Kai? What's this?"

"I'm asking you out. I've wanted to ask you out for a while and I realized I'm not okay with just being friends anymore. So... what do you say?"

Soobin was grinning from ear to ear. He ran into the back of his apartment and then ran back towards the door.

Kai saw him holding a small blue penguin plushy with a red heart on it's belly. It looked so cute!

They traded gifts. Soobin took the rose then ripped off a piece of bread. "Open up boyfriend."

Kai giggled as he opened his mouth. He was fed a piece by his favorite person in the world. "So does this mean you say yes?"

Soobin picked him up and squeezed him tightly. "Yes Kai! I've loved you since I've met you. I was going to wait until valentines day but this is even better!" He leaned in to kiss him. They were both excited as butterflies fluttered their stomachs.

Kai completed the kiss. Their lips met and it felt right. It was the purest form of love that either of them had experienced. He pressed himself against Soobin's body then grazed his thumb over his cheek. When he pulled away, he couldn't stop smiling. "Did you say you love me?"

"Do-do you love me?"

"Yes! I love you so much!"

Soobin kissed him again. The rose went into a small vase and they took a spot on the couch in each other's arms. The taller fed his boyfriend bread as they watched an anime together.

This is what they've both wanted since they were 15. Four years later, they finally had it. None of their relationships with other people worked out because their partners weren't each other. This one was going to be the one that would last forever simply because this was the only one worth fighting for.

Kai could already see them getting married. Soobin already planned the type of dog they were going to adopt. He would let his boyfriend choose the name of course. They had already had their dream house decorated in their heads. The future was equal parts terrifying and exciting now that they were real.

Soobin played with his boyfriend's fingers and asked "who do we tell first?"

"Taehyun. He's probably going to say 'finally' while Beomgyu would make a sex joke and Yeonjun would just congratulate us."

The taller laughed at the thought. "You want to text them?"

"Sure." Kai grabbed his phone and took a selfie of them. The caption was "finally dating." He sent it to the groupchat.

Taehyun was the first to respond. He told them "it's about damn time!"

Beomgyu, predictably, said "I better not catch you two having sex. You guys normally are bad enough."

Yeonjun agreed with Beomgyu then texted "seriously, I'm happy for you guys."

Soobin held him tighter as they continued texting in the groupchat. Kai kissed his cheek and lips when he wasn't laughing.

The new couple met up with their friends at a cafe. They were even clingier than before. Soobin never left his boyfriend's side. He kept his arm wrapped around him. Kai stole glances. He could barely listen to the conversation. His boyfriend was much more interesting than whatever his friends had to say.

Taehyun credited himself for getting them together. Yeonjun insisted he had been trying longer while Beomgyu argued with Soobin over the last cookie in the cafe. Kai just sat there laughing at everyone.

On their first date, they agreed not to do too much. It was simple and perfect. Kai stayed over at Soobin's apartment and they ordered a pizza. They chose to watch their favorite animes together and teach one another kpop dances. It was intimate.

Soobin stole kisses whenever he could. Kai was more than happy to let him. His laid back personality matched Soobin's dominance. The taller enjoyed planning their next couple of dates. He asked for opinions then got jokingly mad when Kai said he was fine with whatever. He wasn't kidding. As long as his boyfriend was with him, he really didn't care what they did.

Their perfect night ended with watching youtube videos with Beomgyu before bed. They laughed at stupid shit and insisted on filming tik tok trends.

Taehyun and Yeonjun came into Soobin's apartment after spending time at the beach. They gave the new couple very wet hugs. Neither of them appreciated it.
The trio showed them the tik toks they filmed. They made fun of each other then filmed a few more.

The new couple were relieved nothing really changed in the group dynamic. They could be more of themselves now. If anything, their dynamic got better.

Kai and Soobin laid in bed after everyone called it a night. The shorter whispered "I love you."

The taller attacked him with kisses then whispered "I love you" back. They couldn't wait to see how their relationship would go from here but it was going to be amazing and they knew it.
