"So Darrian how did DD take
the news" Mercedes asked as we walked into school

"He was surprisingly happy about it he's gonna be taking more shifts at work and doing side hustles to get more money for the baby"

"Oh I'm so happy for you guys," she said

"Me too I honestly thought he was going to bail when he found out that's how most niggas do"

"Anyways girl I'll see you At lunch," I said as we departed to go to our separate classes

I walked into my 1st-period English class. I see DD sitting with his homie wick. Me and Wick never really got along. he was the one holding DD back from his full potential. I felt like I was battling Wick for DD. wick was the one mostly into the street life. DD was just going along with it.

I sat in the seat on the other side of DD.

"Hey baby daddy" he whispered to me

" hush DD I don't want the whole school finding out yet"

"Really Baby? what are you gonna do in the next few weeks or months when you're stomach starts to grow the size of a watermelon?                                                   "I don't know I'll figure something out. Until then let me enjoy my loneliness and privacy before I'm the topic of the whole school

"Wassup Darrian" I heard Wick say

"Hi," I said in a low tone

"Congratulations on my nephew," he said back in a cocky tone

"DD why did you tell him"

"I mean What the hell you told your homegirl, didn't you? why can't I tell my bro he got a nephew on the way"

"What makes you so sure it's a boy DD"?

"Lucky guess"?

"Anyways I was thinking about getting a job DD I mean with you doing extra shifts I wanna start pulling my weight too"

"Absolutely not I told you I was gonna take care of you and the baby"

"Be fucking for real DD extra money never hurt"

"What did I say, Darrian!" He said kinda loudly quieting the whole class

They all turned to look at us. I wanted to evaporate in my chair I was embarrassed. I couldn't believe he did that

"Do I need to separate you two ?" Ms. Banks asked with her glasses tilted down her eyes

"No ma'am just a heated debate nothing serious," DD said

"Ooooh someone in trouble," Wick said laughing

"Shut up," Me and DD said in unison

45 mins later the bell rings dismissing us to our next class. I grab my bag and was out the door. But it wasn't long until I was grabbed by my arm and turned around.

"Darrian I'm sorry I shouldn't have talked to you that way I apologize," DD said

"Thanks, I guess," I said in a sarcastic tone
                                                                    "Yo, what the fuck wrong with you dog  that baby already fucking with your emotions? I'm trying to apologize to yo ass and you wanna be funny" he said in a more angrier tone

"DD just leave me alone please not right now I don't wanna argue"

"Sure," he said quietly

I turned around and headed to my second-period class speeding trying not to be late.but mostly I wanted to hurry up and tell Mercedes all the tea that just happened.

"Mercedes" I whispered yelled

"Hey friend" she said

"Girl I'm just gone be a single dad the baby ain't even here yet and this co-parenting shit already getting on my nerves"

"Chile what now" she said in a anyoned tone

"DD tripping I mentioned that I wanted to get a job and he went all ballistic on me"

"Really"?

"Yes I'm gone do it anyway just to spite him the fuck my baby deserves all the expensive nice shit and I'm gone make sure they got it "

"Well friend this girl I know her name Santana she own the boutique on Main Street she looking for employees I can put you on" Mercedes said

"Really omg bestie I love you" I said and hugged her
