"Yo D your shorty had me scared no lie I'm surprised he ain't wanna kill me or something," Wick said

"Just do me a favor and don't piss him off again bro. I honestly don't wanna hear the shit and it's gone be 2 times worse cause of  the baby and mood swings"

"For sure bro I learned my lesson I'm standing clear of Darrian and all the bullshit," Wick said in a jokingly manner

We walked up to Footlocker to get my paycheck. I need to start saving up I'm graduating soon so I want to move out and also of course stock up on baby essentials. I came to the front counter and saw my manager helping a customer

"Is it alright if I go ahead and get my check from the back"? I asked

"Sure go ahead back," they said

I went into the back room and found a yellow envelope and searched for the check with my name on it. once I found it I grabbed it and went back to the main floor. I saw Wick in the corner looking at a pair of shoes.

"Yo Wick let's roll," I said getting his attention

As we were leaving we ran right into that nigga BlU and the look of disgust is plastered on my face I hate this nigga. Wick and I use to roll with him we were his drug runner boys we made sure all his merchandise made it to where it was supposed to be hell we pretty much made him without us he wouldn't have half the shit he has now

"Problem"? Blu asked

"Yeah I got an issue why the fuck you coming up to my shorty job talking to him"

"What I can't shop? Dude, I ain't even know he worked there fool why you got yo bitch working anyway you making chump change at that job huh"? He said and laughed

"Nigga fuck you my shorty gone be straight. Darrian works cause he wants to not cause I make him'

"And you believe that DD? He may be young but Darrian is not dumb he knows his baby daddy ain't on shit so he already making moves to take care of our son" Blu said sinisterly

"Yo chill out bro you taking shit too far," Wick said

"No!" Blu shouted

"He needs to hear the truth DD you are a lil ass boy and Darrian don't need you he needs a man like me that can take care of him. I mean I should just sit back and let shit play out sooner or later Darrian will see his worth and move on go to college and get his degree. while you will be stuck in the same place maybe still in this Mall actually how about you go fetch me a pair of them new retros" he said with a smile on his face

I just stood still I felt like the rage in my body crippled me I don't know if I wanna cry, fight, or shoot but it was just like every word he said was a bullet that went into my ear down to my heart. I dig into my waistband ready to just eliminate Blu but I was stopped by Wick grabbing my arm.

"Bro come on don't do this think about Darrian  think about your unborn child," Wick said

I yank my arm back

" I don't even know if that's my kid I mean you heard Blu"

"What nigga"? Wick questioned

"Nothing lets go," I said

We make our way back to my car I get in and slammed the door with an attitude. damn, I'm so pissed I wish Wick would've let me smoke that nigga Blu. I finally get the chance to open my check 753$ and 81 cents damn this ain't enough even with the extra shifts I need some real money.

"Yo wick," I said

"Yeah"? He asked

"You still fuck with them niggas we use to make plays with? You know before Blu? I said

"Yeah I mean I can hit one of them up on the gram. why you ask though?" wick said

"Bro I'm sick of this shit fuck school fuck that job fuck basketball I want my old life back"

"You sure bro we came so far we bout to graduate in a few months and college recruiters gonna be looking for players you sure you wanna throw all that away"? He asked

"I've made up my mind," I said

Just as I said that my phone chimes I pick it up to see a message from Darrian I lift the phone to my face for face recognition

I just looked at the message and left it on read.
