Ham calls smalls over and showed him how to make a s'more. The poor thing didn't even know what a s'more was!
"Hey, you want a s'more?" Ham asked.
"Some more of what?" Smalls asked clearly clueless.
"No, no. You want a s'more?"
"I haven't had anything yet, so how can I have some more of nothing?"
Kayla and Benny started laughing at Smalls and Ham.
"You're killing me, Smalls."
Benny had also gone over to get Kayla and him a s'more each. When he got back he smiled at her considering she was wearing his hoodie. He didn't mind though, since he had a lot of them.
"I see you found my hoodie?" Benny asks, sitting down while handing her her s'more before placing his arm around her waist.
"Yeah. And your point?" She asks with a smirk while taking a bite of the smore.
He just chuckled and pulled her closer to him. Kayla smiled and leans into his warm embrace for the air was slightly cooler at night.
"You wanna come over for dinner or something again?" Benny asked shyly.
"Yeah, I'd like that." Kayla responded with a smile.
"Great. It's a date."
"Aww, is Benny asking Kayla out on a date?" Bertram teased.
All the boys heard Bertram before looking at eachother with smirks on their faces.
"BENNY ANS KAYLA SITTING IN A TREE K-I-S-S-I-N-G! FIRST COMES LOVE, SECOND COMES MARRIAGE THIRD COMES. . ."
Kayla hid her face in Benny's chest her face flushed with embarrassment as Benny scolded the boys.
"Shut up!"
"Hey! Quiet you guys! Are you trying to wake it up? It just went to bed! Squints scolds.
Everyone goes silent, knowing what he was talking about. . . Except Scotty.
"What just went to bed?" He asks in his normal voice, which is actually quite loud and annoying.
"Shh! The Beast." They say, some of them hitting him with a pillow or a sleeping bag.
"Oh! Yeah!" He exclames in realization.
"SHH!"
"Shh!" Squints says finally getting him to shut up.
"The legend of The Beast goes back a long time before any of us could even pick up a baseball." Squints began dramatically.
------------------------------
Time Skip:"See man. That's why you can't go over there. Nobody ever has and nobody ever will." Bertram says.
"Well one kid did! But, no one ever saw him again. Ham added.
"That ain't true!" Kenny and Kayla say in unison before looking at each other and rolling their eyes.
"Yeah, it is!" Ham insists.
"He got eaten." He continued. They all just sit there in silence until Scotty spoke up.
"Nah! None of that's true! You guys are just making this up to scare me!" He says determined.
"Oh, yeah? Stick your head out that window and look down." Squints orders.
THAT NIGHT, SCOTTY LEARNED THAT OVER 150 BASEBALLS HAD GONE OVER THAT FENCE, AND NOT ONE OF THEM WAS EVER SEEN AGAIN, EVEN WHEN SOME BRAVE KID WORKED UP ENOUGH COURAGE TO PEEK OVER. BECAUSE, WHEN THEY WENT OVER. . . THEY VANISHED. HE KNEW IT WAS TRUE. CAUSE WHEN HE LOOKED DOWN THERE, HE DIDN'T SEE A SINGLE SOLITARY ONE.
"He's down there!" He says and backs away from the window in fear.
"You bet he is." Yeah-Yeah says.
"What goes over that fence... Stays there."
Ham said shuddering at the thought."It becomes property of the beast. . . Forever." Squints says in a spooky voice.
Everyone goes silent.
After that whole fiasco with the beast, the team decided to get some sleep so that they could have a good game tomorrow.
Everyone: Squints, Yeah-Yeah, Smalls, Bertram, Timmy, Tommy, Kenny, Ham and Benny were all asleep. But Kayla couldn't for some weird reason. She looked beside her to see Benny peacefully sleeping, so she got up careful not to wake him or the rest of the guys up and she slowly got up out of his grip and went to the treehouse balkany to look at the stars. Benny must have not felt her by him anymore because he slowly got up and saw her staring up at the stars.
"What are you doing out hear, princess?" Benny mumbles sleepily as he walks up behind her and putts his arms around her waist, laying his chin on her shoulder.
Kayla: I don't know. Just thinking about the past few weeks. She says with a shrug of the shoulders.
Benny: Wanna talk about it? He mumbled sleepy.
Kayla: I guess. How did I get so lucky to have 10 amazing best friends? She asked and turns around she could look at him.
Benny: I don know. I guess it's because you're popular? He teased causing her to roll her eyes playfully at him with a smile.
Benny: Now let's get some sleep in that pretty little head of yours. Benny said pointing to his sleep bag, since he wouldn't let Kayla use hers.
She just chuckled and Benny walked over to his sleeping bag, crawled in and opened his arms wide. She smiles and crawls in next to him as Benny put his arms around her and she put her hands and head on his chest.
"Good night, Hermosa." He says kissing her temple.
"Good night, Benny." The two then slowly fall asleep both of them listening to the sound of each other's heart beat.
