Elise's POV:

AFTER NEW YEARS

Ivy's birthday was yesterday but she went to see her mom. Although she'll be here later tonight and Sage and I are setting up her birthday party. Roman suggested it to be outside but there's sort of a rainstorm later, so it'll be inside.

It won't be anything fancy and there won't be tons of people, just people from Roman's crew who know Ivy. There are red and black balloons aligned the archway leading into the dining, living room and the entrance. Tablecloth of the dinning room is black and so is everything else in there. Red wine will be served and Sage covered the food.

But for the moment everyone is just relaxing and talking while we wait for Ivy. My dress is this soft feeling spaghetti strap I got during my trip to Rome and my hair in a brushed back ponytail. Roman obviously in something black and kind of casual.

I was pasting around the place making sure everything was amazing because have I not mentioned I need everything in place and perfect. A waiter was walking past me with a tray of drinks, I slickly grabbed two glasses of wine. I've never had wine before but I'm sort of stressed so this boats well.

I lift one glass to my mouth and gulp that down, then gulped down the other. Suddenly Roman is in front of me with a gentle hand on my torso.

"Sweetheart, easy on the drinks okay", he warns. Another waiter walks past and I place the empty glasses on his tray.

"I'm fine, just thirsty", I say. He glances at his bedazzled watch I bought him for Christmas and then back at me.

"She'll be here any minute and I'm sure she'll love this party, this looks amazing", he says. "Does it really?" I ask, not sure if he's serious or if he's just saying that.

Roman nods his head once. "I hear her!" Someone shouts. It wasn't a surprise party or anything but people were moving like it. Yet Roman and I stayed still and faced the front door.

Issac comes to stand beside us and I take a glance at Sage, who's across the room. They broke up about two weeks ago.

Still kind of fresh I guess. Ivy walks in with her back turned away from us, she eases her way in and someone else is with her. A man.

When she turns forward and sees us all her face drops. There are a few laughs and whispers. "Well I thought this wasn't until midnight", she laughed awkwardly. Roman looks at his watch again, "it is midnight"

The room is covered in laughter and her heels click with every step she makes towards me. "Thank you for this", she smiles so hard.

"Happy birthday", I hug her tightly. "You look so much better", she whispers in my ear. Before I can say thank you she backed away and I followed everyone to the dining room for Ivy's birthday dinner.

She didn't want anyone sinning happy birthday so we all just sat and socialize while eating. Taking a sip of some wine I felt Roman's hand caress my thigh. "Did I mention you did amazing on the party", he says with a grin.

I set down my drink and smile at him. "Yes you did", I say kissing his lips. I looked around the room to see how happy looking everyone was and I could tell people were enjoying themselves.

I guess I did do a good job, for someone who's never thrown a party in their entire life.

But suddenly it was always now I realized that parties aren't for me. "I'm gonna go outside for fresh air", I say to Roman. He stood up immediately and pulled my chair out gently.
