Roman's POV

Today Elise and I had plans to go to a gallery downtown. It was one with paintings, sculptures, etc.  I found it online and thought she'd like it.

I also thought I'd be interested but I'm bothered. My nightmares have returned.

Well they've been here since she left but I thought they would go away now that she's back, but they haven't.

They all start out the same, sometimes the ending is different but nine times out of ten they're the same. Elise and I in bed kissing then I suddenly get this raging feeling and end up choking her, to death.

Sometimes I beat her and sometimes I just pull out a gun from nowhere and shoot her. Then I wake up.

I think she has an idea but I'm not sure. She's asked me what's wrong at times but I continue to tell her nothing. I don't want to burden her, I'll either find a way to make them stop or just endure them.

Or I could never sleep, that's an option.

She was in her library reading a freshly bought novel. I saw her in her chair flipping through pages. I gently knocked on the door frame and she didn't budge.

The book must be interesting. "What are you reading?" I ask walking up to her. She didn't answer. How interesting was this book?

"Elise", I called her, stooping my head down to try and look at her. Eyes glued to the page, ignoring me.

Was I actually bothering her?

"I'll leave you to it", I said and took my leave. Maybe her stomach is bothering her again. "Roman!" a child like voice calls from the front door.

Ivy's older sister and niece Kali were here. "Munchkin", I call her. She ran up to me for me to pick her up. "How are you?" I ask, holding her up with one arm.

"I'm great", she smiles cheeky. "Hey wanna see our new dogs", I tell her and walk to the living room where we set them up with beds by the fireplace.

"They're pretty!" she gasp and I put her down. She runs to them and started petting them. They were very calm as she did it too.

"Kali!" a very happy and responsive Elise said. "Hi Elise", Kali got up from the dogs and went for her. "Wow you look so big, how old are you now?" Elise asks her.

"I'm five", Kali replies showing five fingers. "That's such a big age", Elise says with a smile. "Ah my sisters here", Ivy comes around the corner.

"Here's her bag with all her stuff, I'll be back later tomorrow", Melissa, her sister says handing off the bag to Ivy.

"Alright have fun Kali", she says before leaving out of the door. "Now, where's that niece of mine", Ivy jokes while walking slowly out of the living room down the hall and Kali follows.

"I'm right here!" she shouts behind her.

"She's cute isn't she and I think the dogs liked her", I say to Elise. I look over my shoulder and she's walking away.

What the fuck is her deal?

I catch up to her and turn her to me. "Elise are you okay?" I ask her. She doesn't look at me but she nods her head.

I don't like this, and I'm starting to get pissed off.

"We're still going to the gallery right?" I asked. She did the same thing. "Why aren't you speaking to me?"

She doesn't nod or anything just stands there looking at the wall.

Jeez.

I ease down and pick her up over my shoulder. She hits me a couple times on the back but I don't drop her until I'm outback by the pool.
