When I woke up I walked out into the kitchen and Jamie had left a note on the counter for me.
"Headed to the rink, we have media stuff to do so Ty won't be home"
Jamie knew I wasn't ready to face Tyler right now, so I'm happy that he was looking out for me. I ate all the strawberries in Jamie's fridge, grabbed one of his sweatshirts and headed back to Tyler's. On the drive over I was super emotional thinking about everything. I wanted to be happy but I also didn't want to disrespect my brother.
I made it to the apartment and got cleaned up and showered for the game. I sat on the floor watching Shameless on and did my hair and makeup. I decided to wear a Star's crewneck with some light washed jeans. Even though I was mad at my brother, my loyalty will always be with him. I got into the uber because I am most definitely forcing Jamie to drive me home, and then I headed to the stadium. When I got in I sat in the family suite. I honestly hated sitting here. The girls were catty and just mean girls but I really had no other choice. I watched warmups and then the game was underway.
Tyler Pov
I felt bad once Brooklyn left but Jamie texted me and said she was there so I knew she was safe. I regretted blowing up on her but how can she be so stupid. I have warned her time and time again but she just decided to go against me.
I went to the rink early to do some media stuff, got that all over with and prepared for the game blocking out everything that was going on. I went through warm up and got ready to play. I skated out on the ice and then I saw Matthews and immediately got angry. The moment he got the puck all I wanted to do was place a hard hit on him and I did just that. Once I hit him and he was down I yelled at him
"Stay the fuck away from my sister"
I felt good after that. The game went on and it was tied 1-1 at the end of the second period. I lined up for the faceoff and I was next to Marner he looked me directly in the eyes
"Someones mad their sister is giving squeezer to Matts"
I was ready to drop the gloves but I held back then Nylander came up
"I heard your sister it fucking Matts do you think I can be next in line because she it hot"
That's the moment I dropped the gloves and fought Nylander I had enough of this chirping. Nylander and I got separated and on the way to the box he did not stop chirping at me. Kept saying things about Brooklyn.
I couldn't even be mad at them. It was my sister that put me in this situation, she has completely embarrassed and disrespected me. I wanted nothing to do with her.
Brooklyn Pov
As I watched the game I saw Ty hit Auston and noticed he had said something to him and I knew this was not going to be a good night. Then Ty got in a fight with Nylander, and I knew at that moment he was going to kill me.
The game ended 1-3 the leafs had won. Which made everything so much worse. I headed down to where the families met up with the players but I started on the leafs side. I wanted to see Auston before everything went down.
He came out into the hallway to see me, he looked confused and upset but still happy to see me. He pulled me into a hug. After he pulled away he must have seen I had a lot going on because all he said was
"It will be alright" and pulled me into another hug and rubbed my shoulders.
He had to get back with the team if they were flying back to Toronto tonight. "I'll call you when I land okay" He said with a reassuring look and placed a kiss on my lips.
At that moment I turned and saw my brother. He had almost literal steam coming out of his head. He walked over and pushed Auston away from me.
"You are a fucking scumbag stay away from my sister" he said getting into his face
Auston looked at him and just said "make me" and gently pushed Ty out of his face and walked away
I stood in disbelief. What was going on I thought to myself. Then Ty looks at me dead in the eyes
"Don't even think about coming home"
I couldn't even cry. I was so shocked and embarrassed by all of this. Jamie saw me standing there with Ty in my face. He came over and grabbed my arm and took me home with him.
The car ride was quiet until we got to Jamie's. I looked at him
"Would you mind taking me to the airport tomorrow?" I asked him
"But you aren't supposed to leave for three more days Brooks"
"I kinda just want to go home at this point"
"What Ty did was not okay, but he is just trying to protect you and it wasn't just him the leafs were chirping at him all game"
"I know but I am not a kid anymore Jamie. And I am telling you Auston is different"
"If you say that I believe and trust you, but please stay here for a few more days we can hangout and shoot the shit"
I smiled at Jamie and agreed. Honestly being around him might be just what I needed, A few days of just having fun and relaxing.
