Hi everyone, thank you for reading so far. I can't lie. I strongly dislike the direction that I have taken this story in and I beat some of you too. So please let me know what you would like to see for me to be able to fix it because I am not happy with it but I also do not want to start all over again so please give some suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Auston and I were walking home from a particularly challenging counseling session. The city lights shimmered in the distance as we strolled through the park, the cool air providing both of us with a refreshing contrast to the heaviness we had been carrying

As we walked, the silence between us felt less oppressive, and I found myself wanting to break the silence.

"Auston," I began tentatively, "I appreciate that you're putting effort into this, but it's still hard for me"

Auston nodded his head, his expression was serious.

"I get it Brooklyn. I'm not expecting things to magically be okay overnight. I just want you to know I'm committed to proving to you that I can change, that we can rebuild"

The two of us continues to walk in silence before Auston spoke again

He turned and stopped me in my path and grabbed my hand gently "I was thinking... Maybe we could do something special this weekend. Take a break from all the heavy stuff and just enjoy each others company.

"Auston I don't want to just ignore our problems"

"I don't want to ignore them either. I just thought we could both use a breather, remind ourselves why we fell in love in the first place. We can always come back to the work, but I want us to have some moments that aren't clouded by all this pain" He said with sincerity in his voice

I felt touched by what he was saying and couldn't help but smile faintly. "Okay, let's do something this weekend. But not avoiding tough conversations alright?"

Auston ginned, "Deal. I just want to see you smile genuinely again"

Weekend

The weekend had rolled around and Auston had packed my bags for me. I had no clue where we were going. We got into the car and headed to where we were going. As we drove the view of the city gradually disappeared in the rearview mirror and was replaced by towing trees and winding roads. Just from the sensory change I felt a sense of relief wash over me. Auston had been quiet during most of the tide, his eyes focused on the road ahead and I couldn't decipher the emotions playing across his face.

We arrived at a cabin, secluded and nestled in the heart of a tranquil first, I couldn't help but marvel at the picturesque setting. The air was crisp, carrying a scent of pine and the promise of a reprieve from the storm that had engulfed us.

Auston unlocked the cabin door, revealing a rustic interior adored with warm hues. The space felt intimate.

"Surprise" Auston said, breaking the silence that lingered between us. "I thought we could use a break from everything, just some time for us"

I managed to give him a small smile, I was grateful for the efforts he put into creating this escape "It's beautiful, Auston Thank you" I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around him and he kissed the top of my forehead.

After getting settled in Auston, I made dinner. I could tell everything was hitting Auston harder than before by the expressions on his face. Behind his brown eyes was a mixture of remorse and determination.

Once we were done eating I got changed into some comfortable clothes and headed up to the bedroom where there was a small balcony. I stood against the balcony railing and looked up at the stars and took a deep breath. The silence was so beautiful and peaceful.
