Bound by Love and Rivalry: Auston Matthews

Chapter 10

After a few much needed days with Tyler, I was feeling better. I was fighting every urge to call Auston and talk to him but I knew I wasn't ready but I really wanted to.

I unpacked my things and cleaned up the depression apartment I had left behind before Steph came over to get ready to go out.

The three of us got ready together, taking shots in between the laughs, makeup, and gossip. Thankfully Auston wasn't brought up at all. I was nervous about that. I think Steph knew something was off but she wasn't going to bring it up in front of Cassie because as much as we loved her she cannot keep her mouth shut.

We got into the uber and headed to the club. It was crowded because it was tourist season. Toronto had become a hot spot for Americans because the drinking age was lower so it was the perfect spot for them to have a holiday.

The dark flashing lights, the music, and the drinks made me forget about everything or did it just allow me to handle the situation in a bad way. Because I was simply drunk but happy and dancing so that's all that mattered.

Halfway through the night I finally decided to break the seal and go to the bathroom. And at that moment I thought to myself I am really fucked up. I returned back to Steph and Cassie stumbling and we thought it would be a great idea to step outside and facetime Mitch

"Yo yo yo yo yo" Mitch answered the phone

He was in Vegas for a friends bachelor party to he was just getting ready to go out when we called

"MITCHYYY" I yelled getting super close to the phone

"I MISS YOU" Steph said loudly

Mitch sat on the other end of the phone cracking up and flashing the phone to his friends in the room

"You guys are so crazy" he said

The three of us were laughing and stumbling until I stumbled too hard hit the curb butt first like in a cartoon

Everyone almost pissed themselves laughing at me as I sat on the ground dying laughing

"Brooklyn stop I'm about to piss myself" Steph said laughing and doubling down crossing her legs so she didn't pee herself

"You guys are a mess, I'm going to have one of the guys come get you"

"Boo" Steph said "we still want to dance by Mitch love you" she said and hung up before he even had a chance to reply

The three of us giggling and laughing made our way back into the club. We bought a round of shots and a drink to take onto the dance floor. The three of us were dancing and having a great time until I felt a firm grip on my arm.

I turned to see who it was. It was dark and the flashing lights made it hard for me to make it out. But I could tell by the silhouette it was Auston. Mitch must have texted him Steph's location to come and get us.

I didn't know what to say or how to act, I wanted to cry but I was so drunk and giddy that I was excited to see him

"Want a drink? Looks like you could use one" I said offering up my drink

"No let's get you home" he said leaning down so I could hear him

I knew better than to cause a scene in a public place especially when I have to act like everything is "fine" so no one knows something is going on.

Auston rounded us all up and got us in the car and drove us all home. He dropped Steph and Cassie off and the car went from being filled with laughs and giggles to total silence.

When we got to my apartment we sat in the car in silence for a second

"Are you going to be okay getting inside" Auston asked with sincerity in his voice

"Yea ill be fine" I said meekly and unbuckled my seatbelt and opening door

I took a look at him before closing the door, he didn't look like himself, bags under his eyes, and an expression that only could be described with heartache.

I closed the door and started to walk inside, I got to the entrance of my apartment before turning around and catching him just before he pulled off. He rolled his window down.

"Can you stay for a little" I asked him

He nodded his head and got out of the car and followed me inside
