Jake’s POV

"Jake!"

I'm a bit tipsy, but I manage to respond to her.

"What in the world, Trish? Aren't you tired of chasing me everywhere I go?"

"And aren't you tired of evading your responsibilities as a father?"

"Please, just shut up!"

"Why should I shut up? Are you ashamed to admit that you already have a two-year-old son?"

"What on earth are you talking about, Trish?" Matt chimes in.

"WE HAVE A TWO-YEAR-OLD SON! YES, YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT! WE HAVE A TWO-YEAR-OLD SON! AND THIS MAN KEEPS ON AVOIDING HIS RESPONSIBILITIES AS A FATHER!"

Silence blankets the room as Trish's revelation hangs heavy in the air.

Yes, she's my ex-girlfriend. We shared a brief moment when I was in 9th grade, but she moved to Canada before I met Kiara in 10th grade.

Two years ago, Trish returned to the Philippines, and fate led us to the same bar tonight.

Back then, I was not a cheater. I couldn't betray Kiara, the woman I love more than any material possessions.

Yet, to my shock, I woke up in Trish's bed the morning after that night – a regrettable mistake.

And Trish is right; I kept avoiding them after she told me she was pregnant. I didn't want my parents or Kiara to know anything about it.

My desperation led me down a dark path of cheating on Kiara. I was torn, not knowing what else to do. She means everything to me, but I feared she would leave if she found out I'm now a father to a two-year-old child.

But now, everything is out in the open, and I don't know what to do next.

I'm exhausted – tired of the web of lies and deceit I've woven myself into.

As the truth unravels, I must confront my actions and face the consequences, no matter how painful they may be.
