"Anushka?" A bold voice called out to her, and she turned around to find Virat.

"Virat? What are you doing here at this time of night?" Anushka asked, surprised.

"Can I ask you the same?" Virat smirked playfully.

"We came here for a hangout," Anushka informed him, referring to herself and Avi.

"Where is he?" Virat inquired.

"He had some work, so he had to leave," Anushka replied, unsure of how to answer.

"Mhh He shouldn't have left you alone in the middle of the night like this," Virat thought out of concern.

"Did you say anything?" Anushka asked, catching his murmur.

"Nothing," Virat replied.

"How are you planning to go home?" Virat asked.

"I'm looking for a cab, but it seems there are none available," Anushka replied, a little disappointed.

"I need to buy some things. I'll drop you home after that," Virat said, leading the way into nearby stores. Anushka followed him, and while browsing, Virat noticed someone who resembled Avi playing in a glass-walled PlayStation section.

"There he is," Virat remarked.

Anushka felt awkward and looked away, not wanting to confront Avi.

"He wanted to spend some time with his friends," Anushka explained, trying to justify Avi's actions.

"That doesn't mean he should leave you alone like this," Virat said, his words firm but truthful.

Anushka was at a loss for words.

Avi finally came out of the PlayStation section with his friends and asked Anushka, "You haven't found a cab yet?"

"No," she replied.

Virat intervened, "I'm dropping her home."

"Thanks, Virat!" Avi said, "Actually, we were going to the movies, and Anu didn't want to join," he added.

"No worries," Virat said, faking a smile.

"Bye, Anushka! See you later!" Avi hugged her before leaving.

Virat and Anushka headed to a grocery store in the mall. They didn't exchange any more words about the situation. Virat picked up some frozen food items.

"Now I understand why Ro dislikes Avi so much," Virat said calmly.

"Please don't tell Ro; he'll scold Avi like anything," Anushka pleaded.

"He deserves it!" Virat said firmly, "Even if he has a million things to do, you should be his first priority. As his girlfriend, you deserve his time."

Anushka remained silent.

As they drove in the car, Anushka asked, "You haven't eaten your dinner yet?"

"Yeah," Virat said, starting the car.

"It's the middle of the night, Virat," Anushka said, concerned.

"I'm used to it; don't worry," Virat chuckled.

"But still, it can affect your health" Anushka said.

"And why frozen food? Seems like your aunty is out of town," she added.

"Actually Maa is in hospital" Virat said.

"What?" Anushka asked, shocked.

"I'm so sorry about that"

"It's alright," Virat said.

"Don't eat frozen food too often; come home. My mom would love to feed you," Anushka offered.

"Ro says that to me all the time," Virat chuckled.

"He's not wrong; we love having you over," Anushka said.

"Your brother is really easy-going; anyone could get along with him," Virat said.

"That's true," Anushka agreed.

"But sometimes he can be annoying when he becomes that lazy panda," they both laughed.

"Well, you have to deal with that for the rest of the series," Anushka said.

"I'm ready for that; he's my best friend now," Virat said, stopping the car as they reached Anushka's home.

"Thanks, Virat," Anushka said.

"Anytime!" Virat said, as they got out of the car.

"Anushka, I know you might not like what I'm about to say, but you deserve more than just being dropped home in the middle of the night. You deserve to be someone's first priority. You have a heart of gold; know your worth," Virat said.

Anushka didn't say anything but nodded in response to his words, and then she walked inside the house.
