'to love & to be lost'

Where to go when two men you love so much are not talking to you? And one of them may be out of your life forever?

The relationship you've invested your energy, efforts, heart, and soul into can leave in a matter of seconds because they're uncertain about you. You're left broken.

Why?

Because poison and antidote are the same person.

Anushka ruffled her own hair in irritation, looked at the phone screen again, and dialed his number.

"The number you are trying to call is currently unreachable."

She threw her phone on the sofa and sighed. She tried to focus on her work, but she found herself staring at her computer screen.

'Why didn't he pick up my calls?'

'Is he alright?'

"Anushka..."

'He hasn't been talking to anyone since that day?' A tear rolled down her cheek.

"Anushka."

'You are not like this!'

"ANUSHKA," Shreya waved her hands in front of Anushka, pulling her out of her thoughts. Anushka tried to compose herself and said, "I... am... sorry."

"It's fine," Shreya murmured. "Editor Sir is calling you to the office." She informed Anushka and then left.

Anushka took a deep breath before entering the editor's office. "May I come in, Sir?" she asked, standing at the door. The editor looked up from his computer, smiled at Anushka, and gestured for her to enter.

"First of all, your last interview was amazing, with your brother and Virat. Everyone liked it," he praised her as she sat in the chair across from his desk.

"Thank you, Sir."

"By the way, where is Avi?" At that question, her heart skipped a beat. For a moment, she didn't know how to respond. How could she know? She hadn't heard from Avi since that day. He hadn't tried to call her, and Anushka didn't want to reach out to him either.

"Actually, Sir, he is busy. We haven't been in touch," Anushka replied.

"Okay, no worries. As long as he's reporting through reports," the editor said. "By the way, Anushka, I've given Avi an idea for the next magazine project. He'll be leading it. I thought you two make a good team."

"Actually, Sir..." Anushka started to decline, but the editor interrupted her.

"I know you're already working on your individual project, but could you please do me a favor and work on this too? Avi doesn't have experience with magazines, you know. Would you consider it?" the editor requested.

"Yes, Sir, I will try," Anushka managed to say.

No matter how hard she tried to avoid paths that led to him, maybe that's what happens when people are in a relationship for five years - they become each other's reflection or shadow. People expect them to be together all the time, to stay that way forever. But is that realistic?
