It was suggested by Gordon that I keep a journal to keep my "sanity" as he stated. He said that a lot of good cops do that, it helps make sure you don't go insane being surrounded by criminals and psychopaths. I remember saying that an event like that never happened to the GCPD, it happened at Arkham to one named Harley Quinn. Gordon said that was true but he couldn't take chances like that.

Anyways, today wasn't as exciting as I predicted it to be. I have a feeling that Gordon doesn't trust me in "big deal" cases. He usually tries to cover it up, but I can see through his lies. He did say in the email that he expected great thing from me as a detective. Right now, I don't think so. Everybody is just giving me files to work on, and every single one of the cases is the easiest murder to figure out. Basic stuff like a stab in the heart and the murder weapon is hidden inside the body, a simple cut of the brain wave vein, or even basic shooting. My co-workers around here act like I'm doing an every important job when I'm actually finding out basic stuff.

I won't let these people holding me back from my true limits get in the way of being the best detective that Gotham has ever seen. Just like Gordon said, expect great things from this new detective. I honestly couldn't care less about what type of criminal I get first, just get me out there in the field and Gotham won't regret it.

Finally, things are getting interesting.
Today was my first day in the field, finally getting some fresh air outside of the GCDP. They needed extra people on a murder case today, what luck right? The murder took place in Gotham's East End. An actually well planned out murder this time. But of course, every murder out there can be taken back to the actual murderer. All murderers have one thing in common.

They all don't want to get caught, but they all leave signs saying it was then.

It's like a trademark. It's always there. Just hard to find. In this case, it was sloppy.

Again, the GCPD couldn't find out something simple and decided to get more people out here like that would help. Of course, I figured it out before everybody else, now the rookie murderer is behind bars.

Hiding the weapon under the floor board where the body was put on top of with your name written in blood on is a bit outdated don't you think so?

Just to go into a bit of my personal life outside of work, (Gordon also said that is good to do in this journal), Nathan, my ex-fiancé called me today. He asked about my week at the GCPD. Like he cared anyways. This job was the reason we broke up. He had always been a pussy. He couldn't take the thought of me taking down criminals and psychopaths. It was a week before our wedding when I first got the letter. When I told him about it, all he did was get angry at me, he told me not to take it. And now I'm here having the time of my life with my fantastic job.

All there is to say now is.....

Happy Non-Wedding, Nathan.

Journal Entry 7
Sunday, March 15

I decided to do a little research project. Was this approved? No. Am I doing it anyways? Yes.

I'm not supposed to work on Sundays. Not to mention at 4 am. Yes there are still cops that work at that time, but the beauty of it is, they don't know me at all. They just assume I'm another person working the night shift since I don't work on Sundays at all. I don't work Wednesdays either but I have somebody that works with me on Monday that works on Wednesday.

Now, about this "project".

Basically, I'm hacking into Gordon's computer, since he usually isn't there at 4 am, he does come in at 5 am to check on everybody, though. Anyways, through his computer, I read up on secret information that only a few people know about. This could possibly get me in trouble.

But that's only if I'm careless enough to get caught.

Lucky for me, I've already done this before I even got this job.
