Neither does He have a beginning, nor an end,
Neither does He break, nor bend,
Neither does He live, nor cease to exist,
Yet, He holds the entire Cosmos in His fist.

His awakening lies in His drum and it's sound,
His abode is the cremation ground,
For He is Time Himself, and beyond time as well,
And has no bias for Heaven, Earth or Hell.

He holds the Holy Ganges in His matted tresses,
The Kailash is His Emperor, and the Mountains His Empresses,
Tiger skin, an adornment of bravery He wears,
Instead of jewels, His arms with ashes He smears.

He is a recluse at heart,
Detached from the world apart,
Neither does He favour esteem and pride,
Nor does He fear insolence and hide.

He destroys so that He may create again,
He is patient even in pain,
But when He loses His calm, and opens His third eye,
His anger knows no bounds, at an all time high.

He has control over Birth, and over Death He has won,
He adorns the Moon on His head, and His face is as splendid as the Shining Sun,
He has great achievements; tremendous feats He has done,
And among them, destroying Tripur with His Pinaka is also one.

The Past, Present and Future, He knows about,
He dispels all ignorance and doubt,
As around His neck, rests Vasuki, the Great Snake,
He watches over the whole World, from the shore of the Mansarovar Lake.

The Trident, the greatest power, He does keep
It symbolises Faith and Knowledge deep,
As Shivalinga, He is worshipped by you,
Remembering His different forms and folks too.

As a woman entered, Love changed His life,
When the Supreme AdiparaShakti became His Wife,
He turned from a Hermit to a House Holder,
As He learnt to rest the responsibilities of His Family on His shoulder.

As Sati, His first Wife, She was born,
As Her embellishments, Innocence and Devotion, She would adorn,
But circumstances forced Her to embrace the Holy Fire,
In an attempt to revolt, She jumped into the Sacrificial Pyre.

As Parvati, She was born again,
To heal His Soul and soothe His pain,
She underwent extreme penance to unite with thee,
Because They're One; Ardhnarishwar for the World to see.

His Devotees don't suffer from doom,
For He is the Five-syllabled one; And also in the letter 'Aum',
He's in Forever and also in Never,
As He continues to continue, ever and ever.
