Murphy's pov

They had managed to make their way to the Minneapolis labs without any hiccups. Warren hadn't caught up to them and Ellie was still sleeping in the car, he wasnt worried about her waking up without them there because he would sense when she was about to wake up.

Murphy and Cassandra were currently standing at the back of a crowd gathered around a guy wearing a lab coat smoking Z-Weed out of a pipe while giving a speech.

"You all came here because you have hope, hope for a cure, hope for a tomorrow. But hope has a price. And for some of you, that price will be your lives. But without hope, what do we have to live for anyway? And for the one who succeeds, there is the promise of life, not just for himself, but for all of humanity. Somewhere in that greenhouse is the hope we all came here for Batch 47,the herbal vaccine against the zombie virus"

"It's a suicide mission" A guy from the crowd with glasses interrupted making everyone turn to look at him. "I mean, where's your proof?"

"Proof? Well, the proof's all around you. For years, Batch 47 has been hidden away, lost to the world,until I discovered the evidence that a cure exists. All you have to do, go in there and harvest a few seed pods. Now, who here has what it takes?" The man said holding up some cutting shears and other tools

Everyone in the crowd ran forward shouting as they tried to grab the shears and the other tools untill they were none left.

"Whoa! Don't worry" The man said walking away "It's a big greenhouse. You're all gonna get your chance"

"Maybe we don't need to go to California after all" Murphy whispered to Cassandra a smirk on his face as they followed after the guy.

Walking through the tent they saw the man go in, they were stopped by another guy holding a gun.

"Hold it right there" He said holding his hand up to stop them.

"I need to talk to your boss"

"No, you don't. You need to wait in the garage with the other harvesters."

"Oh, he's gonna wanna hear what I have to say" Murphy said ignoring him as he walked forward but was once again stopped when the man pointed his gun at him making Cassandra growl.

"What's wrong with her?" The man said looking towards Cassandra

"Not a damn thing"

"If you're here for Z-Weed, we're closed for retail sales. Come back tomorrow" The guy in the lab coat said turning from the board he was looking at to face them.
