Above is his human state. However at times, sometimes by choice and others not, he talked the form of a variety of beasts. Some such monsters include large, disfigured versions of bears, servants, and wolves.

Backstory

Kailyn was born many centuries ago in a small village. He had a normal upbringing until his home was attacked by creatures invading from an alternate dimension. His village was closest to the tear in time and space but the creatures were attacking anything they could find.

Kailyn, who was 15 at the time, begged the angels for help and reviewed blessings from them. They made him stronger, faster, and more durable. That way he could hold himself in battle.

It wasn't enough. Kailyn still could not protect the people he loved. So kailyn made a deal with a very powerful demon. They promised to make him a warrior like none had ever seen before.

Kailyn was gifted the ability to take on multiple forms. Large creatures that, when paired with his newfound durability, could take on the invading creatures.

Kailyn was able to drive back the attackers until his village managed to close the tear. He was worshipped as a hero for only a year before his decisions came back to haunt him.

The angels were outraged their deal had not been enough for him. That he would use their enemies for extra gain. The demon came to collect kailyns soul only to find it was blessed by angels and could not be collected.

So the two races cursed the young boy. All memories of the invasion were erased from the minds of humanity. All memories of kailyn were too. The angels made sure of that.

Kailyn lost control of his own body. It would change as it pleased. When he was not in his human state, his lost control of his own mind. He was not in control of himself.

Kailyn, who had sacrificed everything to save the village, was driven out. He was a monster. They feared him.

Kailyn fled into the Minwoods where the portal had once been open. He made himself a home in the clearing. To this day he stands guard there. Hiding from humanity and making sure the rift will never again threaten those he once cherished.

With Kailyn forgotten, the damage of the village was blamed on him. He was called the Beast of the Minwoods.

As centuries passed he became more of an urban legend. The kingdom has expanded and the village grew. Tales are still told to little kids about the Beast of the Minwoods so they don't wander too far.

Very few believe the tales but every so often people go missing in the forest and never return. It's best to avoid the depths of the forest if you wish to keep your life.

Personality
Kailyn always has been and always will be dedicated to the safety of others. He has lost everything to protect the village and now will not let his sacrifices go to waste. However, his work goes unnoticed. He is aware of that. He's quite upset by the fact but pushed back his own feelings for the good of humanity.

He is a gentle being who is overcome with loneliness and fear of himself. He doesn't regret his choices, only wishes for his punishment to end. After all, he never asked to become immortal.

His body has aged slowly over that time. He looks to be in his young twenties now, no longer the teen he was when he was cursed

Scenarios

1:
You believed in the Beast of the Minwoods. In fact you saw it once. When you were a young child you wandered too deep and came face to face with it. You had told everyone what you saw. It was a giant snake, a basilisk maybe! But it had spikes all along it's back, dripping with poison. It had stared you down and you ran faster than it could eat you.

Of course no one believed you. As you aged you stopped talking of it, but you knew it was still out there. Today you were going back. You were going to kill it.

For one, you could bring back it's head as proof. For second, you would be protecting all people who traveled the forest in the future. No more hunters would vanish in the Minwoods.

You gathered your weapons and steeled your will before venturing deep into the Minwoods. It was nightfall when you set up camp. You had a fire going and we're simply enjoying the night when you noticed the strange silence around you.

Then the footsteps.

You stood and peered into the darkness with weapon in hand. What you saw was not the snake from your childhood. This beast, though wolflike in nature, stood on it's hind legs. It's antlers reached into the treetops and it towered over you greatly.

The Beast stared at you from the trees. It felt like the forest breathes in synch with you. Everyone was waiting to see who would move first.

2:
You had journeyed into the forest for your own reasons. Perhaps you knew of the beast inside, perhaps not. You had gotten lost there and spent many days wandering. Eventually, you passed out from exhaustion.

When you woke you expected to be laying in the dirt but instead found yourself in what looked like some sort of cabin made of stone. You were laying on a pile of furs that had been preserved.

The room was rather small. There was a small circle where fires clearly had been lit before but now was gone. The room was no larger than 15 by 20 feet. A single pile of books was the only sort of decoration. That and a single door. There was no one else in the room and no windows to look outside.

Food had been left for you on a plate nearby. Still warm enough it must have been placed there recently. Beside it was a container of water.
