We see the Major General kick open the doors to the scrapyard and finding no forms of life about. He surveys the area.
Doctor:
Order your men to hold gold platted bullets in their guns.
Major General Harrow:
I don't need my men to be told what bullets they carry by your or anyone else, Doctor.
Doctor:
Gold is lethal to Cybermen. Any gold were to get into their chest units, they would act as if they were suffocating.
Major General Harrow:
In that case, Colonel!
We then cut to see Trixy, Dale, and Ethan being converted as Cybermen in the chambers. We see the Cyber Leader looking at the humans being converted, whilst holding his hands together menacingly. The Doctor, the Major General and the others carefully make their way into the scrapyard, being alert and ready for an attack from the Cybermen. We hear Fenneck's voice over the radio communications he has with the Major General.
Colonel Fielder:
This place is bound to be booby trapped. Other mines, maybe?
Doctor:
The Cybermen prefer to use organic parts when they find them.
Colonel Fielder:
Organic parts?
Doctor:
Remember, they were once like us.
Major General Harrow:
Anything yet, Fenneck?
Fenneck:
Negative, sir.
Movement comes from the warehouse. We hear wood falling apart. The men stand ready to attack.
Major General Harrow:
Hold your fire.
We then see the Cyberman stomp from around the corner.
FIRE!
BAM! BAM! BAM! Bullets explode at the Cybermen. Missile canons are fired at the warehouse. BANG! BOOM! The warehouse quickly blows up, encapsulating in fire and smoke. To the horror of the men, we then see the Cybermen stomp through the fire – indestructible from firepower of the army.
Fenneck. What are the life signs in the scrapyard?
Fenneck:
I don't believe it. I cannot register the reading, sir. Other than your own.
Doctor:
How about underground?
Fenneck:
I've extended the search radius, and still nothing.
Colonel Fielder:
They must have come from down below. There's no way they could have been hiding out elsewhere.
Major General Harrow:
If my machine canons and explosives won't stop it, how are we supposed to destroy a dozen of them or more.
Doctor:
Notice that this one doesn't come armed. A messenger boy are you?
Cyberman 1:
THEN COME, DOCTOR! COME AND FACE THE CYBER RACE, ON THE BRINK OF DESTRUCTION! WE MUST SURVIVE! AND YOU SHALL BECOME AS WE ARE!
Doctor:
No, somehow I don't think so. Been snatching people out from places to try and rebuild yourselves? We saw your homing mines. Nice little devices. But not your finest mechanics ever created. Somewhat impressive being from the salvage of the rusty hat stands.
Cyberman 1:
WE WILL CONTINUE TO ADAPT AND MULTIPLY! THE HOMING MINES HAVE PROVEN TO MAKE EFFECTIVE DESTRUCTIVE WEAPONS! WHEN THE WORLD REFUSES TO SUBMIT TO OUR DEMANDS, THEIR LEADERS SHALL BE DESTROYED!
Doctor:
Thinking of advancing them on worldwide are we? And how will you achieve that when you power has been diminished?
Cyberman 1:
WHEN YOU ARE ALL AS WE ARE, YOU SHALL BE FREE OF PAIN! FREE FROM WEAKNESSES! WE SHALL BECOME INDESTRUCTIBLE ONCE AGAIN!
Major General Harrow shoots into the chest unit of the Cyberman. It screams as it topples to the ground, destroyed.
Major General Harrow:
Well, now we know what they want, we will be able to put a stop to it.
Doctor:
And if you hadn't of done that, we could have learnt a lot more, General Harrow.
Major General Harrow:
We also know that gold bullets aimed at their chest units will stop a Cyberman dead, Doctor. Once that smoke has cleared, we will take a look down the passage. Then, we move. And finish these tin pot inhuman beings for good.
We cut back to the control room of the Cybermen.
Cyberman 2:
OUR CYBER SCOUT HAS BEEN DESTROYED, LEADER!
Cyber Leader:
THEN WE SHALL PREPARE FOR THEIR ARRIVALS! I AWAIT THE MEETING OF THE DOCTOR ONE LAST TIME!
