Once the smoke and fire has cleared around the destroyed warehouse, the Doctor and the army move in. They observe the sheltered up hole below ground, leading into an eerie tunnel. Fenneck joins with the others, observing the destroyed Cyberman.
Fenneck:
To think that this was once a living mind. The neural pathways kept intact, retaining all memory and previous knowledge. Treated to extract all emotional responses and creative ideas. A wonderful achievement. But a terrifying monster.
Fenneck goes to join with the others looking down the hole.
Captain Herring:
The fire of the warehouse would have taken care of the Cybermen?
Doctor:
Little more than create structural damage for them here.
Colonel Fielder:
Now we know that will be booby trapped in there.
Doctor:
A surprise will. But we will have to go to them. This time I recommend your guns lead the way.
Fenneck:
He's quite correct. We can identify no signs of life down there so we may run into any Cyberman hiding about.
Major General Harrow:
Very well then. Myself, my Captain, and Colonel will lead the way.
The Major General jumps down. We see him observe his surroundings. The Doctor, the Colonel, Captain, and Fenneck all jump down.
Colonel Fielder:
Bring the reinforcements down here. Following us. Carefully.
Captain Herring:
We will be walking right into an ambush. We will know what there is to expect down here first.
The Doctor uses the Sonic Screwdriver to find the trace of the Cybermen.
Doctor:
There now. This way. And remember, aim for their chest units.
Major General Harrow:
Forward!
We see the army proceeding through the underground tunnel, prepared to shoot at the Cybermen. The army enter into the conversion chamber, followed by the Doctor. The Cybermen are not present. In fact, they are disguised as converted Cybermen, ready to leap out and attack the army unsuspectingly.
Search every inch of this place. We must find the Cybermen.
Doctor:
They're about. I can sense their presence here.
Fenneck:
Fascinating equipment. I should indeed be fascinated to study this.
Captain Herring:
Are these more Cybermen being made here?
Doctor:
Be careful of them. They might be dormant, but they could be activated.
Captain Herring:
They seem harmless enough. But we best keep an eye on them to make...
The Cybermen disguised in the chambers leap out and attack. The three victims, Trixy, Dale, and Ethan remain being converted by the Cybermen. The Cybermen grab the Captain, and emerge to unexpectedly take the Colonel, Fenneck, the General Major, and then the Doctor. They try to shoot at the Cybermen, but their guns are knocked away, missing them.
