Chapter 24 - Not over yet

NOT OVER YET

"I'm home father!" I said as I opened father's study room.

"Fa-" I stopped when I realized that father was not inside, instead files of papers were on his desk waiting for his return.

I closed the door and walk to his table to clean the mess.

Father is working a bit too hard again... I scanned the folders, proposals...lots of it, audits, evaluations, reports, no wonder he never got to spend much time with us. I picked each folder and arranged it properly on his desk but one particular folder catches my attention, it was rested nicely at the right corner of his desk separated from the others. I reached for it and took a peek ... what I saw next made me linger more at the document inside.

"Hinata? you're here..." I turn to look at my father with the folder still at my hands. Father's gaze shifted from me to the folder I am holding.

"I was about to give it to you, your decision about the matter is already needed." he said coldly as he walk towards his desk and placed more papers and folders on it before resting himself in his executive chair, closed his eyes took a deep breath and sigh relaxing himself for a while.

"F-father.. isn't it a bit too early for this?" I said in a whisper tone.

"If its about the company, nothing is too early my daughter" he opened his eyes but did not even bother to give a second to glance at me. He just get the folder on top of the pile and start to review the documents again.

"B-but f-father, I haven't decided about it yet" I gripped the folder much tighter as if my life depends on it.

"I believe we already made everything clear about this matter the last time we discussed this my child" his eyes not leaving his work.

"Y-yes b-but father" I let out a protest.

"Hinata!" father's voice was now firm, he did not raise his voice but I can sense the authority telling me to be silent.

" Bring that document with you and return it to me as soon as you are finish with the needed information".

I know that this discussion is already over, but I need to tell him about Naruto kun.... Its now or never...

"Father..." I tried to keep my voice firm, hearing no answer from him I continued. "Its about Naruto kun..." I paused, I saw him stopped and put the folder down and turned his chair towards my direction.

"Okay you got my attention, what about the Uzumaki boy?".

"He... he is already my boyfriend.." I've said it.. I can't believe I've said it I feel like the ground is going to swallow me any moment.

I saw father's reaction change from being firm to being surprised but for just a split second. He sighed and turned his chair once more to face his paper works.

"If your relation with the Uzumaki boy will not affect your decision about your future, we have nothing to talk about my child." He grasp his pen and start to sign some documents. He is not against it..but..

"F-father, about that.. I " I heard a a loud thud as father slammed his desk.

"Two years Hinata... I can only give you two years ... I hope you would not walk away with your word".

"Father" was all I can say.

"I believe this meeting is over .. you can leave now" was his final word before I stepped out of his room. I looked at the folder and opened it again.

"Two years..." I took a deep breath before dragging my feet to my bedroom.
