"Hey." Sam greets as Dean gets back to the cabin.

"Hey." Dean says.

"You look like you've s-- well, I was gonna say you look like you've seen a ghost, but you'd probably be stoked." Sam says. "Uh, you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm cool. What's up?" Dean asks.

"Well, this kid went missing from a preschool." Sam informs.

"That sucks. And?" Dean asks.

"And at the same time he vanished, a surprise tornado hit, lasted maybe 20 seconds, then, uh... shazam! Back to perfect weather." Sam explains.

"Hmm. And they pooh-pooh climate change."

"Yeah." Sam chuckles. "Well, similar wackiness has happened over the past few weeks in other places. Uh, Tulsa, a bus driver vanishes and a river gets overrun with frogs. New Mexico, a mailman disappears, the earth splits open."

"All right. So, uh, you thinking demons?"

"Yeah, possibly, but... I mean, this stuff was major. These folks have nothing in common -- no religious affiliations, different hometowns, all ages. Why would demons want them?"

"Why do demons want anything? Uh, so, we on this?"

"Yep."

It's nighttime and the family are in their motel room, Dean in a different one. All three kids are asleep in one bed, Sam and Miranda in the other one.

Sam quietly sighs as Miranda tosses and turns some more. He slips his arm around her waist, pulling her into his chest.

"Sorry." She mumbles, turning around to face him.

"It's fine. You're okay." Sam kisses her shoulder. "Wanna talk about anything?"

"No." She huffs, rubbing her face. "I just... I wanna be able to sleep again." She whispers. "I spent a year barely sleeping so I didn't die and now I can't sleep because I'm still thinking of that place and-- and--"

She stops when Sam starts massaging her scalp and he rests his forehead against hers.

"Well... if you're up for it, there is one activity that could hopefully help tire you out." Sam says.

"What?" She asks. Sam just looks at her until she gets it. "Wait, but I thought-- you wouldn't--"

"I'm okay. I'm better than I was last year. I'm... I'm okay with it. I want to." Sam says.

"But what if--"

"If I freak out, I will stop. Trust me." Sam says, kissing her nose. "But we're not doing anything if you're not up for it."

"The kids are right there." Miranda whispers.

"Car or bathroom." Sam says.

"You wanna take out the two car seats and the booster seat?" She smirks.

"There's a front seat." Sam says, Miranda quietly giggling.

"Mm... car." She decides, getting up. Sam laughs, quickly following her. They walk out and Sam locks the door, the two getting in the front seat.

"Should we really leave them in there alone?" Miranda asks.

"They're asleep, they should be fine. We'll hear if something happens." Sam says.

"Right." Miranda mumbles before Sam roughly kisses her. "Mm. Mm. Wait. Just-- just don't do anything you don't want to. I mean, if-- if you wanna go super slow, I get it, just--"
