Zayn took one last glance in the mirror before rushing out of his room, holding the huge paper bags in his hand, and practically ran down the stairs. He felt really excited to meet Jade again and couldn’t fight the smile that played on his lips.
“Ready?” He asked his mother, who was waiting for him, and she nodded the same smile reflecting on her face. She noticed how much her son wanted to meet Jade, and she approved of her.
Zayn put the bags in the backseat, and then walked to the driver’s seat while his mother had already taken the passenger seat. It wasn’t such a long distance to the gallery so they made it there in less then 10 minutes.
A smiling Jade greeted them at the entrance of the gallery. She gave Tricia a slight hug, before embracing Zayn in a tight one. Tricia watched the scene in front of her with a grin. It was nice to see your son smiling and generally being happy.
“Welcome” Jade told them playing with her hands a bit embarrassed that she had hugged Zayn like that in front of his mother, even though it looked like he didn’t really mind.
“Thank you dear” Tricia said following her towards the painting section. Zayn followed the women that talked quietly about what Tricia was interested in.
Zayn used the opportunity to give the exhibition another look. There were lots of paintings he didn’t have the chance to see yesterday. Once again there weren’t many people there. He got distracted watching the marvelous mixing of colors when he felt someone ling their arm with Zayn.
He looked to the side and his eyes met a smiling Jade, who was looking up at him.
“Hey” Zayn said in a quiet voice making her smile bigger.
“I’m guessing you brought what you promised?” Jade asked raising her eyebrow, and Zayn nodded handing her the bags which he had gotten before entering the gallery.
“Of course i did”
“Okay thank you, let’s find them a place” She grabbed Zayn’s hand and dragged him towards the main part of the gallery where the best painting were hanging… the part where he found the tableau yesterday.
“Here?” Zayn asked surprised
“Well, we sold five paintings from here yesterday, and i saved four places for your paintings, they deserve to be hung here.” She bit her lip looking down, and Zayn chuckled placing his hands around her.
“Thank you” he said appreciating the good words about his paintings
“No thank you!” She replied moving her hand to grab his. “Let’s go to the photography section and see my brother’s work”
Zayn was okay with spending time with Jade, and he didn’t really mind where they were as long as they were talking to each other.
To his disappointment, Jade kept talking about her brother's work, sounding very proud.
“This one was made by me” she said pointing to a particular photograph. Zayn’s eyes looked in that direction and he frowned slightly. It was a black and white picture showing a boy’s back. He was standing next to a lake, looking down at his feet, the moon shining from the right corner. He had a slim figure and was muscly but not too much.
