"Maine!" Said Delaware as he ran across the second floor corridor, Alaska right behind hum holding what looked like a beat-up flower crown and a note.

They reached the half open door to see the blue state looking confused and scared with Connecticut sitting beside him on the carpet inside their room.

Maryland saw them and gestured them inside, Minnesota actually looked mildly concerned about the situation.

"What happened..?" Asked Delaware as he looked at Maryland. "He can't find Georgia" said Maryland.

"I haven't seen her all day and no one else has seen her either!" Yelled Maine, he had red eyes and seemed as though he was crying before.

"Actually ve vanted to show yu somethin" said Alaska walking towards them, they explained what they found and what Delaware heard.

"Wait..show me the list.." said Maine wiping his eyes with his hands, they gave him the note and as he read his eyes continuously widened.

"We've got to tell dad!" He said, "he's at work" said Maryland who had showed the note to the rest. "We still have to see if the others are ok, it could have been a prank.." said Vermont.

The rest agreed and they went to see the first person that Delaware heard the night before, Oklahoma.

"So you mean you haven't seen them?" Asked Maine eagerly, "no I haven't" Oklahoma said, they had found him also looking around the house.

"Shit.." said Alaska, they checked every single room inside the gigantic house they lived in, but nothing..

Something they did notice somehow, is that all their jackets, boots mittens, hats and a big part of the bigger state's  wardrobes had been almost completely emptied, their beds looked untouched, windows were sealed close and there was no sight of anything being moved other than a few possessions.

Suddenly, the door barged open, America was standing there looking pale, his tie was not tied properly and his hair was an absolute mess.

"Kids come here!" He yelled into the big house, everyone came running instantly, he began counting each of them. Whenever he finished he looked even more pale, "where's your uncle?" He asked them, "we don't know, we haven't seen him all day" said Washington.

America's flag looked different, eleven stars were black, the states noticed this and panicked.

This had only happened one time and most had panicked, America even had to train some to use guns just in case something else happened.

It had only happened one time, with one state, they almost lost one life..and now eleven were at risk.

"Were shutting down" he said, all nodded and went straight to their rooms. Whenever a lockdown happened everyone has to stay in their rooms for the first week, then protocols were called.

After sometime if the states weren't found well...no one really knew what happened next. The states that went missing were found after three months others after weeks. Dad never kept an eye off them until he made sure the house was secure enough.

Confederate helped him install the security and has a key for the gates and house doors, he had everything...

Suddenly, something clicked in America's mind. Confederate, the kids, those eleven were the ones that trusted Confederate a lot.

His eyes widened, he rushed up the stairs where his brother's room was, wishing this was all a dream, he opened the door begging to be wrong about the whole situation.

No..the room had been ransacked, everything was thrown, clothes were everywhere and on the bed, was a very small piece of paper..

You took what I desired the most, now I have taken the only thing you ever cared for.

Good luck.

He crumbled the paper and threw it across the  floor, not wanting to relive the moment when he had lost his kids...

Eventually, days turned into weeks, weeks..into months, and months into a year yet still no sign of them.

The American household wasn't the same anymore..they all had lost someone who was important to them.. and they might never get them back...

America was sitting on his bed listening to the footsteps of his children walking around the house, he sat there thinking.

He reflected on the behavior towards his children, Texas, he always was a kind soul, putting his siblings before him.

North and South Carolina, they were always forgotten, the Dakota twins were the spot of light in the family. They on the other hand, they got along with each other, North liked to make flower crowns, the amount of times America  would find a flower crown in his office.., South she was an artist, anything she would see, she would recreate.

Virginia, she had her flaws, she was a strong girl, she had a soft spot for her little brother, Kentucky. They would play together every single day, she was a caring soul, shame she had to lose it..

Louisiana, excellent cook, artist in many ways, she was super protective of Missouri, someone would even call them best friends, the blood that Louisiana would bleed for her was a surprise for everyone.

Mississippi, she was the loud one of the family, she'd talk for hours and the only states to even care to listen to her made up stories were the only that understood her.

Arkansas, she was a creative one, all the times she'd win at games, mysteries she solved everywhere, super organized person, and she loved music like her big brother.

Tennessee, she was a clever girl, the brightest after many, she saw his brother; Texas as a role model, would try to be like him, the Texan would simply pat his head and tell him he was too young.

Alabama, a very chaotic soul, stars in her eyes every time she'd hear the sound of his brother's guitar, the sound of their voices was extremely calming to her, she'd find herself asleep in the snow covered in several blankets while his brother only had a thin sweater, and after removing all blankets from her body she'd find his jacket on her.

Florida, the crackhead, he made everyone smile, even himself at times, he was confident about himself, would tease a lot of people except the bigger states like Alaska and Texas since he knew they'd easily catch him.

And finally, Georgia, she was the sweetest towards people, she's had some hard time sleeping, Maine was the one to help her, he'd read stories to her.

The Christmas night whenever she was with Texas, she and Maine had gotten into an argument, she was kicked out of his room, she'd go crying to her brother, eventually they'd sing a song together to calm her down.

America regretted everything he'd done to them, from ignoring them to completely neglecting them, he layed down on his bed and sighed, he's been getting help and has been listening and caring more for his children, wishing he'd done that do them he fell into a deep sleep.
