The stranger

North Carolina opened her eyes and looked around the silent cabin, she saw rust on the metal sink, the windows were broken and the wood was all burned, she got out of the bed which seemed to be moth eaten and all ransacked with bugs and ...blood?

She quickly got up and looked around the only two rooms that were inside the house, the bathroom looked even worse than the kitchen and living room looked.

During all her time outside picking fruit with her siblings she forgot to put her shoes on, she walked outside as the backdoor made a loud creak. There outside close to the apple tree, she saw eleven kids, but their flags looked different, their wyes were black just like hers, they were all leaning over a mount of dirt as each placed a green leaf picked from the same apple tree they were under. A little girl who was mabye around Georgia's age grabbed an apple and put it over the pile, none seemed to be crying but niether did they look happy.

"North!?" Yelled a voice as she opened her eyes, it was Florida who was leaning over her shaking her shoulders, "what happened?" She asked as she sat up.

"You kinda passed out.." said Tennessee as he moved closer to Mississippi, she loooed as though she was debating whether to panic or be relived.

"Where's Tex and South?" She asked, "South's havin' an episode" said Florida.

Right when he finished the sentence they had come back, South was on his shoulders, her black eyes looking very tired, he grabbed a bucket and placed the wet rag on North's forehead.

He kept it until his arm got tired, "where's papa..?" Georgia asked as she came from the kitchen drinking a beer.

She offered everyone else some, they thanked her and one by one they drank until the bottle was empty, Georgia went to leave it on the kitchen counter.

It was midday and the states were outside, they all heard Confederate call for them, they hesitantly went inside to see him extremely drunk and was looking outrageous.

"Which one of y'all drank my fuckin beer?" He asked them holding the empty beer bottle Georgia had brought them earlier.

Georgia looked stunned and she just stared at him guilty, "it was you wasn't it" said Confederate coming closer to her, he grabbed her wrist and started yelling at her, no one knows what came over Virginia but she suddenly hit him.

Confederate looked stunned for a couple of seconds before attacking her, she cried in pain when he threw her against the wall, the states were so scared because they only ever got yelled and Confederate had never used violence on them.

Texas got on him and suddenly pulled him of her making Confederate hit his head on the ground, the rest backed away as he got up, "oh you little shit.." he said.

Texas covered his mouth with both his hands, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.." he kept repeating being completely glued to the ground not being able to move.

Virginia ran towards North Carolina who was as stunned as Georgia who had tears streaming down her face, she wasn't sobbing only tears were dripping from her black eyes.

Confederate grabbed Texas from the wrist, the fourteen year old shrieked in pain from the black blood oozing from his wrists.

Confederate kicked the door open and dragged him outside, the other's were too scared to move a muscle as they saw him dragging the boy into the forest.

It had been five hours and they still hadn't come back, Moscow had come like he always did in the mornings, when they told him what happened he said his farewell and ran away into the same forest.

A few minutes passed before they heard the crunching of the snow coming closer, they all went to the window and saw the tall Russian coming closer towards the cabin carrying something.

When he got inside he placed the thing on the couch and went towards the bathroom, the states inched closer and saw that Texas had a cut coming from his ear to the tip of his mouth on both sides, his hair was cold and wet. He had two holes in his stomack that were rapidly oozing blood.

"Tex!?" Cried Georgia looking at the state of his brother, "pleaze don'tt die.." said Moscow coming into the room with what looked like a med-kit.

He got a cloth and put a liquid on the cuts and holes on his stomach, he bandaged up his stomack and his big cut wasn't oozing blood anymore but they all could see the flesh.

"Where's papa..? Asked Virginia uncovering her mouth revealing other severe cuts that surprisingly weren't infected.

"I-I dontt know.." he said looking at their brother, Louisiana came closer to the body, the commotion had startled her at first, she started to mumble some words in Spanish, she couldn't hear them but she knew what they meant.

Georgia joined in, and soon everyone including Moscow who was doing his own prayers in Russian, they all finished and went to sleep, Moscow couldn't stay because he had his own home to return too.

"Pleaze tell me if he vakes up.." he said putting his hat on, Louisiana read his lips and she nodded handing him his coat, "lett him keep it" he said smiling. Louisiana stared at him but nodded and placed it ontop of Texas, it reached all the way down to his feet or mabye even more considering how tall the other Russian was.

"Moscow please..we need to find them..." Asked yet again the Californian, almost everyone was there, Maine, California, America, Alaska and Idaho, it had been almost three years now, and the Halloween season was here.

"Look kid, I know me and your father aren't really the bestest of friends, but we really need your help.. I can't keep living without my kids.." said America as he looked at him sternly.

Moscow sighed and started to explain everything, from when they met to how they look and what had happened that night..

"That sick bastar-" suddenly the door opened and there stood Delaware looking very scared and confused..

"D-dad something's burning in the forest.." he looked even more scared now, "I-I heard Georgia screaming.."
