It's just another morning, everyone is minding their own business, doing their own thing, and suddenly something clicks in the boy's mind.

How old is he?

°°°
Florida was wondering the halls crawling around or hanging from the roof as a passion, it wasn't until morning that he went upstairs to the roof and sait there looking at the sunrise.

It was just another windy morning, the birds were quiet, the wind was surprisingly loud on this morning and you could already hear the doors in the house opening and closing and commotion happening downstairs, mostly talking, some shouting, a couple of thuds and some more yelling, what an excellent morning.

It wasn't long before going back through the vents, he managed to crawl through a cardboard box and make it into the attic where, behind some boxes was a little pile of blankets, cushions and some lights hanging from the ceiling, he huddled up in a corner and opened a window.

A little rustling was heard before another state came in holding some snacks, "I figured you'd be here after not finding you" he handed Florida some hot chocolate.

"So.. how's the morning?" He asked Florida sipping whatever he had in his own mug, "I'm tired" he said, the other nodded and continued sipping.

"It normal, everyone is tired" he said, "Hey Wyoming?" the other nodded and Florida continued, "How old am I?" Wyoming stopped sipping and took a moment to think, "I suppose you're around thirteen" he said, Florida thought for a moment before thinking again. "How old would lulu be?" Wyoming thought again;"maybe twelve or your age" he said.

It all sounded weird, first it was all the drama with Dixie, then it was all those years trying to accommodate and now he's here.. doing nothing.

Florida crawled back into the vents and once reaching the vents leading to his room he plopped down on his wheelchair and went towards the kitchen where there was someone washing plates.

"Morning Nevada..where's everyone?" He asked, Nevada dried his hands and looked confused for a second, "what do you mean?"

It was suspiciously quiet today, "Where's dad? New York, where's Arizona?" He asked, Nevada looked frozen for a moment, "I don't know, I can't remember where they went."

Florida looked confused, he had definitely seen Wyoming this morning, and he heard everyone in the early sunrise so where is everyone?

They had enough food, nobody was going out in this weather, just look outside it's basically boiling hot... boiling? Why would it be hot outside we live in a snowy area..?

Where are we?

"Just another morning..you can do this.."

The man stood up and brushed his overgrown hair, he had 39 kids to take care off and his husband has probably already making breakfast for them.

He walked downstairs and sat down on the couch, it was like this every morning, he would sit down and look in the corner under the stairs, a silent wheelchair folded and dusty, it hadn't been touched for three years but sometimes there was a feeling someone was connected to it.

North Dakota came in and sat down next to him, she was silent for a moment and looked at the floor, "Another one of these mornings?" She asked, America nodded silently, "It just feels like they're still here.." he said as a tear slipped down his face.

Florida witnessed the encounter with his dad and sibling, he looked back and indeed the chair was folded seemingly untouched, he looked down and panicked when he realized he was standing up.

'I can walk..'

He ran over to North Dakota calling her name, but she didn't turn around, he looked confused and went in to tap her shoulder..

His hand passed right through her, he stood petrified for a moment, "what.. what's going on.." he ran towards his dad and tried pulling his hand but he also passed through.

He started shaking and breathing heavily, he couldn't figure out what was going on, why has he passing through his dad, where was he..what the hell was going on

For a moment he looked through his dad's eyes and he saw himself, his scars were gone, he looked younger than usual, but most importantly he looked transparent..

Someone tapped his shoulder and he turned around, There stood his other siblings all looked just like he did, some where crying and others were standing looking proudly at him, "we've missed you fifi.." said his older brother, he was one of the ones that were crying, the Carolina's were crying and ran to him hugging and sobbing.

Georgia looked younger than he did, her burns were gone, and even the most gruesome one's on his older brother's face were gone, they all looked different, "Tex.. what's going on..why can't Dakota see me..why can't I touch dad!? What-" they all ran and hugged him, sobbing they all wiped their eyes as the room became a snowy wonderland.

It looked just how it seemed the day they came back, just in the blink of an eye they saw themselves walking in the house.

"Tex what's this..?" Asked Florida, "We don't know, we just appeared here, we fekt the same way you did, we just figured it out after being here for three years" said South Carolina taking his hand, "three years? but I just saw you yesterday.."

"We don't know how time works here honestly, I can be fourteen or six, we are just here, relapsing our memories and what we could've gone through." Georgia smiled while being carried by Tennessee, "Are we dead?" Virginia chuckled as the room became a snowy wonderland again, "somewhat" she said, "our pets can still see us, we're kinda like ghosts!" She smiled, "where's Missy? Loui? Arkansas, where are they?" Georgia sighed and the wonderland took back to a room in the house, where the three states were sound asleep.

"Their time still hasn't come, we're waiting patiently and while that happens we'll teach you how to find peace here" said South Carolina.

Now they wait in the time void, lost in time as their souls wait for their siblings to join them...just waiting, happily playing, laughing, retracing memories and seeing their siblings grow up, remembering what they went through and what they could've done better, their souls are waiting in time..

It has been fun working on this story even if the outcome has been very late, I love working on these stories and most importantly on this platform, things have been happening and some people have been leaving and coming, I am still working on other stories but this might be the last one I'll do.

Thank you for reading even if it was only a few people, I really appreciate youe attention to this and I hope you liked this.
