I knew I'd love her more each passing day.
It had been only 3 days since she became my girlfriend but it felt like I had already spent an eternity with her and if eternities felt so short, I could live forever with her.
But forever is a myth. Something that can only exist fictionally. Lest; I promised myself that I'd spend as many eternities as I could; with Yasmine.
Everytime I thought of her name, it reminded me of the fact that I named my fictional character's love interest Yasmine, but somehow, mine turned out to be Yasmine too.
And I found my hand reaching the pen and paper on the table and I began to write.
Love has sacrifices. Jacinth was wondering what the sacrifice for him would be.
Yasmine was also thinking of the same thing. She was quite reluctant of their actions. They just met a few days ago, they fell in love and confessed. They even kissed; but what exactly pushed the feeling?
Why did they fall in love? What was the reason?
That was something neither of them found the answer too. Everytime they looked within them, it was as if love was there without any reason.
But love; indeed is without reason. For when you love someone for a reason, you'd stop loving them once the reason perishes. But once you love someone without any reason, nothing can perish it.
Days passed, and everytime they had a different counting system for themselves for the time they'd been together. They'd always say that they've been together for seven days, a pair of seven days, 2 pairs of seven days and so on.
Because both of them had a painting that was eerily similar to the other's. Only the colour palette used was different but the theme and the thought behind it was the same.
They found this out when Jacinth had invited Yasmine to his home for their two pairs of seven days anniversary.
She pointed out that the painting hanging in his bedroom was one that matched one of hers. The next time, she invited him to her house and he saw her painting.
They both had similar thoughts, their perspective of life was aligning and that was something that boosted their love.
Seven days, according to both of them were like one life. When those seven days passed, a new life started, with the same instances as the previous seven days, but with a different motive.
And thinking in this way might be stupid for not everyone measures those seven days and completed their tasks accordingly. But it helped them believe that they lived. It helped them satisfy that inner greed and fear a human faces for death.
Seven days; everytime one of these ends, a new life begins.
With a smile on my face, my phone in my pocket and a notebook in my hand, I walked towards the park where I met Yasmine.
As I reached, I saw her already sitting there and she was drawing something. But as soon as I came, she hid it.
"Yasmine, what were you doing? Why did you hide it?" I asked her, sitting beside her.
"Nothing," she said; looking directly at me.
"Hmm, it's okay if you don't wanna tell," I assured her. After all, it was just a drawing, it's her choice if she wants to show it or not.
"I'll tell you but not now," she smiled at me; her nose scrunched and she looked really cute.
"Will you release a new book anytime soon?" she randomly asked me.
"I'm writing one currently," I responded.
"What's it called?" she asked again. I was sure she was trying to divert the topic now.
"You'll know it later," I cheekily spoke.
"I'll be waiting," she said. But something about it tinged in my heart. I felt like those words meant only one thing from her, but they were giving me a hint about something.
Something I was definitely not sure about.
Days passed, yet the feeling never did.
