When Jake got inside his house he saw Faith standing by the window with her arms crossed. She walked past him, heading outside and he followed her. The two of them sat down on the same step and Jake turned to face her.
"Faith," Jake spoke.
Silence. "Faith," he spoke again. "Say something. Anything. Please."
"What do you want me to say, Jake," she finally snapped, facing him in anger. "You promised me," she trembled sounding hurt.
Jake could tell that she was upset and hurt but he couldn't blame her. He knew she was right. And he let her down.
"I'm sorry," was all he could say in a whisper.
"You're sorry," she snapped now raising her voice and standing up. "How about you tell me why you made a silly promise to me when you knew you couldn't keep it? When you knew it wasn't true."
"I didn't know this was going to happen, Faith," Jake spoke, standing up as well. "Okay. I didn't know."
Faith looked away to roll her eyes. Tears filled up in her milky light brown eyes and she felt some slowly start to trickle down her cheeks.
"We can't continue this relationship like this Jake," she finally spoke in a soft tone slowly looking back at him. "We-We can't continue this." She pointed at herself then him. "At all."
"Faith," Jake whispered. "Please give me another chance."
"Another chance!?" she exclaimed. "No!"
She ran her hand through her hair and looked down at her feet before speaking again.
"Jake," she spoke calmly again once she looked at him. "You have to choose. Me or Seth?"
"Fai-"
"You'd choose him wouldn't you," Faith spoke.
Silence as the two looked away from one another.
"You deserve to be happy Jake," she said, facing him with a smile. "And I know that Seth can give that to you. You know that Seth can give that to you."
"Faith," Jake spoke lightly.
"Maybe six years is all it was supposed to be," Faith spoke again, cutting him off.
Tears filled up in her milky eyes again and she covered her face in her hands while she broke out into tears. And this time she was really crying buckets. Jake pulled her into a hug, squeezing her tight. His eyes now filled up with tears and slowly ran down his cheeks.
They finally pulled away and Faith was looking down at the porch-tears still trickling down her cheeks. Jake placed his index finger underneath her chin, slowly shifting her eyes upon him.
The sound all around them dimmed while they stared into one another eyes knowing that this is the last time they'll be this close again. So many thoughts ran through both their heads each not knowing what to say next but to only do this.
A kiss. Jake's hand was still under her chin and their tears were drying up. Everything was now still. Their hearts were beating rapidly and their lips were together. The two now slowly pulled away both breathless. They had their eyes closed while they went back remembering everything back to when they first got together to being Juniors in high school. All six years were sealed away in this final kiss.
Eventually, they opened their eyes and everything was no longer still. Jake brought his hand away from her chin as he took a step back. Both their eyes were drawn to the ground right after.
