*chapter 1*

Clawing at the dagger-like waves with my raw fingers as I slowly sank, my legs kicking and flailing about...

It only felt like a minute before the water grabbed at my throat.

My head was spinning and I thrashed my limbs around, fearful and in pain, gravity was crushing me.

Bubbles escaped my mouth.

Tears bled from my eyes.

My body felt weak and useless against the crushing force of the water...
My lungs gave up, I closed my eyes, entering into a painful slumber.

I really thought it was the end when my brain blacked out.

My eyelids fluttered open, gasping for air I dug my nails into my throat.

Suddenly a pair of pale hands forced themselves upon my chest, pumping hard, I threw up a pool of water. It felt like fire was coursing through my lungs as the person rolled me into a recovery position, letting me vomit up as much as I could.

Finally I drew a single raspy breath.

Air has never felt sweeter. Once my brain has oxygenated enough I felt the sudden cold hit me. My eyes darted around hurriedly, my vision was blurred though I could make out the faint shape of a young man. It was dark and cold.

"Help me-"
I coughed out; my lips trembling.

He held my body close to his without hesitation. I cried into his lap, I was so scared, so so scared...

We sat together in the dark until I was able to breathe sufficiently again.
Everything hurt.

When I attempted to sit up he lifted me into his arms and whispered to me;
