*chapter 2*

It was a long walk back.

The figure carrying me slowly came more into focus as my eyes adjusted to the dark night air; he was of small build, he had firm yet smooth skin, a distant look in his eye. Now that i looked on with more intent he was quite attractive.

With blonde silky hair, freckles peppered across his nose, cold blue eyes that radiated comfort. Speaking of cold-

I looked at my fingers to realize that they were turning as purple as a corpse. The boy noticed your eyes darting to your finger in shock and he quickly offered you his jacket. For such a young man he seemed rather strong, there was power behind his moments. How effortlessly he could lift me up and down... He must be familiar with carrying weighted objects with ease.

As he continued back to the city he held me closer to him. Close enough that I could hear his heart beating.

It was so warm. I was alive... he saved me.

"...Are you feeling okay...?"

The boy asked without looking down, obviously he had seen my expression. How embarrassing.

"I'm... Feeling a lot better, thank you very much sir." I replied nervously.

He raised an eyebrow and with a frozen expression retorted with;

"You have second degree frostbite and you swallowed practically half of Fontaine..."

I clearly was not okay. The traces of water inside my lungs dug into my flesh like thorns, it was agonizing, though merely the thought of  dry land made me feel such relief that it didn't even cross my mind that I was halfway to heaven a few minutes ago.

"...I'll live." I managed to croak out, with a effort I manged to not grimace. He sighed.

"If there is a clinic or even an inn near by it should suffice. You need some rest and its already midnight."

The boy spoke with a husky voice. I hummed in approval, it was a miracle I had lived and even more so that my savior was him.

'The archons  have blessed me...' I though to myself dreamily.
