Hello! On August 16th as a little present to celebrate 4.0 I'll write a 🍋 chapter 🥂

*chapter 3*

I tried so hard to keep my eyes open, I was so fatigued that I could fall asleep at any moment, and the gentle movements of the boy carrying me with the motion of his chest against my face didn't help.

His lungs were clearly also getting tired as his breathing pattern became more erratic.

"Hey...are we close to where we need to be?"

I yawned when I spoke. He looked down at me with his frosty blue eyes and calmly smiled.

"Yes... I think I see an inn over there."

He turned his head and motioned to a small old inn-looking building over on a hill about a kilometre away.

He continued walking, I only now realised that he was wearing scuba gear on his back...that must be weighing him down an awful lot...
He really had gone to alot of trouble to take care of me.

As I was gulping for breath after a close encounter with death I hadn't really considered what the boy was doing on his own in the middle of the night... diving?

I decided not to question him as we would have plenty of time in the morning. Wait...was he going to stay with me or just leave me here?! I didn't think much of it until now, but, is he also going to stay the night...?

"H...hey..."

I mumbled to him not making eye contact. He replied;
"Yes...?"

"I'm just wondering but...are you, like... leaving when we get there? Not that I mind at all!"
I stammered, my eyes darting around, searching for an excuse not to be left alone. I never felt confident much on my own... generally I wasn't good with strangers.

His expression was difficult to read. He stopped outside the door of the inn, looking at his feet shyly.

"... I've never really understood people quite as well as you seem to imagine me doing..."

I tried my best not to look disappointed, it wasn't my right to tell him what to do, after all it was myself that caused all of this trouble.

As he helped me stand on my own he continued with a quiet voice as if he was talking to himself;

"...but...my brother said I should make some more friends. I'll stay with you."

I beamed at him, the lights of the inn illuminating his face. I felt as if the more I looked at him the more drawn to him I was.

He sheepishly took my hand and lead me into the inn.

All of a sudden a wave of nausea hit me and I felt so faint that my knees gave way, a burly man behind the counter saw us come inside and rushed over to help the boy hold me up, the man seemed shocked at the state we were in.

My head was spinning

My eyes rolled back into my head and I fell between them hitting the floor with a dull thump.
