It took a moment for Brett to realize. The Chen pack was a noble bloodline of wolves that dominated the majority of the town and many other territories in the fields around it. It was not a secret that they were raising a pureblood female to have a spouse for the pack leader to marry and have pureblood heirs.

Brett: "OH fuck..."
Morris: "Yes Brett...fuck..."

The possibilities were many but two were the ones that were more plausible: the pack actually contracted with them to protect the female and have her back, or they just kill all of them and take her back by force.

Neither of them was exactly good. The second one for obvious reasons, the first because it could have ended like the second. Yeah, wolves are not that good in contracting peacefully.

But the thing now was not where the female was, but the fact that she was just been claimed by the heir of the Yang pack. Basically, a prince of a reign took a princess from another in marriage, without their parents knowing. And the two reigns happen to have a sort of cold war between them.

Without caring anymore for the people in the room he went back to Eddy and took a look at the man. He was sleeping peacefully and his wolf’s attributes were gone. He was really claimed...fuck.

Now, how was he gonna explain to him the situation? It was already hard as it was and now, he also had to add the info that he had just started a possible war between their families.

What a good start.

After some minutes the man stirred in his sleep and opened lazily his eyes. He took a look around before remembering where he was and starting to be scared again.

Brett cleared his throat and hinted a move in his direction.

Brett: "Hey..."

Eddy didn't answer and just clutched the blanket harder with his fingers.

Brett: "I'm not gonna do anymore to you...I promised you explanations and I'm about to explain if you'd like to..."

Once again Eddy didn't answer and just nodded feeling like explanation was needed.

Brett: "Cool, come with me"

Gently he extended one hand in Eddy's direction waiting for him to take it. The man looked a little dubious at the hand before deciding to take it.

Brett guided him out of the room into the main salon of the bar. The people in the room had taken a seat at the sides, leaving a small table in the middle free for Eddy to sit.

Brett felt that Eddy flinched hard when he entered the room, trying to shield himself behind the shorter man. After some seconds in which the man seemed frozen on the spot, he was able to make him sit at the little table.

Morris came soon with a mug of hot chocolate and some biscuits offering them with his usual genuine smile on the face.

Eddy smiled briefly at him and took a sniff at the mug. He had to admit that it seemed normal, so he decided to take a tentative sip. It was indeed good.

Morris: "Welcome Edward, this is the Yang pack. I'm Morris but you can call me Mo. And these are the members of the pack"
Brett: "You are one of us now, but I bet that you have lots of questions"

He said scooting a little closer

Brett: "You may have understood by now that both you and the people in the room are werewolves. Contrary to legends we do not transform when the moon is full. Being wolves is more related to reproduction and territory"
Morris: "Our territory goes between the fifth and the 42nd road. Having territory means that every wolf in that area, including the female belongs to our pack. Especially the females"
Brett: "The wolves that enter our territory are not seen as enemies unless they do something that insults us. And the females that have their heats in our area are seen as seducing ones. Of course, as members of the pack that controls the area we have more rights over the female, but external wolves can always smell her and try to claim her"
