Chapter 28

The next week went by fast, and before I knew it, it was my first day as a medical intern.
I woke up to a knock on my door.
“Come in,” I called out.
“Good morning beautiful, I made you some breakfast.” Nathan walks in with a plate of fried eggs, bacon, and toast with a glass of orange juice.
“WOW, Thank you. This is really sweet of you.”
He places the tray on my lap, taking a seat at my feet.
“I thought I should treat you on your first day. How are feeling, are you nervous?”
“No, Dr. Martin already prepared me on what to expect for the first day.”
I shift to the side of the bed, making room for him, tapping the open space next to me. “Come climb in next to me please, hold me for a little while.”
He stands, walks over to me then climbs in next to me, wrapping his arms around my shoulders. I made myself comfortable in his arms.
“I love it when you hold me like this…you know… I will be very busy from now on.”
He kisses the top of my head. “Yeah I know, that is why I have been thinking… Please move in with me? My place is closer to the Hospital, and we can also see each other more.” He stops and then continues.
“I have a match in London tomorrow. Our flight is tonight. I will message you every chance I get.”
I look up into his eyes, pouting. “You better! I’m going to miss you.”
He kisses me on my lips, then takes my face into both of his hands looking me straight into my eyes.
“Amore, do you want to move in with me? I know it’s fast, but you will barely be home. I already spoke to Joe and he agreed. We don’t even have to sleep in the same rooms. I just want you near me.”
“Okay…” I nodded my head.
“REALLY?” He asks astonished.
“Yes… Nathan…don’t look so shocked.” I giggled.
“How late do you start working?” He asks
“At seven.”
“Well, now you need to get a move on, look at the time…” He motions with his chin to the alarm clock.
“OH SHIT.” I quickly jump out of bed and run to the bathroom. Luckily, I have already picked out my clothes last night.
“I will get the servants to come pack your things and take them over to my penthouse tomorrow when you're at work, you will not have time to do it yourself… if it is fine with you?” He shouts from outside the bathroom door.
Did I hear correctly? I thought to myself … Servants? Penthouse…? I shake my head and scream back. “Yeah, it will be fine. Oh, yeah remember to send me the address.”
“I will arrange for someone to take and pick you up from work tomorrow. I’ll be waiting downstairs, see you in a second.”
I quickly showered, changed, put my sneakers on, and tied my hair up. I grab a slice of toast from the plate and run downstairs. Seeing Joe and Nathan chatting in the entertainment room.
Joe looks up seeing me enter. “Finally, I hope you are ready for today?” He asks.
I walk over to the couch where Nathan is sitting and take a seat next to him. “Yes, I am more than ready.”
I look at him and then at Nathan. “Did you really agree that I can move in with Nathan? Do you really not mind? Are you not going to miss me?” I said with a pout on my face.
“Of course Amore, but I know Nathan will be good for you. That is why I agreed. Now Nathan will take you to the Hospital and I will come to pick you up. I do not like you driving back home alone at night.”
I quickly got up, grab my bag, and said goodbye to Joe. Taking Nathan’s hand we walk out together. He opens the car door for me as usual, and we speed off to the hospital.
I look over at Nathan while he is driving, I start fidgeting with my fingers. “Do you really like really, want me to move in with you, even though we have only known each other for two weeks?”
He nodded looking over at me, putting his one hand on my thigh. “Yeah of course I do. Why would I not?” He turns his head back to the road.
“What if I really have bad habits, and you start to get tired of me?” I ask nervously.
“That will not happen…”
“But how do you know…? I turned my body to him with a serious expression.
“Amore… stop it… then we will work around it. Everyone has bad habits, we just need to learn how to work around them, together…. Okay?”
I look down at my hands, then nod… okay… I quickly think of something and jerk my head to him …
“When do I have to meet your parents?” I cover my mouth with my hand “What if they don’t like me… What then?”
He looks over to me and then shakes his head. “Amore, what is going on with you today? My dad already loves you, even though he has not met you. My mom is amazing, she will love you. But even if they do not like you, I will still be with you, because I chose you! Remember what I told you, that I will never go back on my word.
Looking at him, my heart overflows with love… He has given me so much love and attention these two weeks, there is no way I cannot be in love with this man. He makes my heart stop every time I see or think about him. His eyes are full of love every time he sees me… I know in my heart this man will do anything for me. I will always stay by his side because I know he will do the same for me.
We stop in front of the hospital. I quickly loosen my seat belt and grab him around the neck giving him a big hug.
“You need to be safe! Please look after yourself. I will see you when you get back.”
As I pull back, I look him straight in the eyes. He takes both sides of my face, with his hands and kisses me passionately then pulls back.
“Yeah, I will, Now go before you are late on your first day. I will message you as soon as we land. Call me when you get back home tonight.” He kisses the top of my forehead.
“Okay, I will.”
Climbing out of the car I walked into the hospital knowing the next chapter of my life has just begun.”
