Chapter 15

He didn’t even bother to look up at her, giving her a cold attitude, she totally ignored me and Carolyne, continuing with her all-out flirting, waiting for Nathan to reply, she twirled her pony with her finger, her eyes shining with anticipation.

Nathan turned to me. “My Amore what do you want to eat?”

Hmmm I know what he’s doing… I leaned against him looking with him at his menu. “I don’t know darling, you order for me.” Giving him a soft smile.

The corner of his mouth lifts into a smile. Still ignoring the waitress, he gives her our order, his eyes not leaving the menu, when done, he looked at Carolyne. She stared at us with her mouth open.

“Carolyne, what do you want to eat?”
He waved his hand in front of her.

She snapped out of it and gives the waitress her order. The waitress did not look happy at all to be ignored by Nathan. She quickly writes our order down, took one last look at Nathan, she quickly turned on her heals and stomped away.

“Okay what was that?” Carolyne asked.

“What was what?” Nathan and I said at the same time.

“Okay that was just weird… from when are you two dating?” She looked at me.

I looked at Nathan. He is as calm as me. “We are not dating.”

“Then why did he call you, My Amore and you called him darling?”

“Aija Carolyne, can’t you read between the lines. The girl is obviously into Nathan and he’s not, so he asked me for help, and I did just that.”

“When did he asked you for help?” She looked confused between Nathan and me.

I looked at Nathan next to me, he just shrugs his shoulders. Pressing my hand on my forehead.

I ignored her question and changed the topic. “What have you been up too Caroline? Are you married, how many children, where do you live…” I quickly asked her.

“Okay wait… married me… and children?” She started laughing. “I’m too young for that, my life is way to fun to settle down. I’m not dating anyone but have a lot of admirers. I also live in Myrle Beach, moved here a year back. I’m a model, and love my job… yip, that just sums it up.” She looked at me putting her hands underneath her chin resting her elbows on the table.

I tilted my head and smirked at her…
“Ask away Carolyne.”

“What happened to you after you left?”

I started telling them everything, not leaving anything out. I hated revisiting my past. They both looked at me astonished.

In the meantime, our drinks and food came. We started eating while they listened to me.

“Yeah, so Joe changed my life. I’m starting my internship in two weeks, and I can’t wait!” I said excitedly.

“WOW Mia, you went through a lot, but I’m so thankful everything turned out good.”

“Thank you, me too. I’m very grateful to Joe. I owe him so much.”

“Well, I think it’s fate that we all live in the same town and that you two met each other again.” Carolyne said
“When is you next fight Nathan?” Carolyne asked him

“Friday.” He said while rubbing the back of his head.

“Great I’m free Friday, we can come and watch the match.” Carolyne looked over to me. “What do you say Mia?”

“Yeah… way not?” I shrug my shoulders.

“It will be great seeing you girls there.” Nathan smiled looking towards me.

“Amore, do you want to accompany me for a jog tomorrow morning, we can go to the gym afterwards, and then I will take you to Dr. Martin.”

Looking at him I frowned. “You want me to go jogging and gym with you… and why will I do that?” Why would he possibly want me to accompany him? What is this guy’s motive?

He narrowed his eyes at me. “I promise I will go easy on you while jogging and you do not have to accompany me while I gym, you can just watch me, maybe you can pick up some self-defense skills, or you can go to the coffee shop around the corner, they have a nice reading corner…”

I tilted my head imagining Nathan with nothing on except his boxing shorts… I remembered how he looked four years back, mmmm what a sight that was... he’s brown toned body, muscles in all the right places and those eight pack abs….

“Amore?” Nathan shook his head and stated to chuckle.

“AH Yes...”

“You have a bit of drool there.” He laughs, pointing to the corner of my mouth.

I quickly wiped my mouth with the back of my hand. “Hey!!! I do not!”

“Then why did you wipe you mouth, what’s going on in that pretty head of yours?” He smirked at me.

My cheeks started to burn up, I knew my cheeks are probably red like a tomato. What is this man doing to me? The look on his face shows he’s enjoying the hell out of it. “Ahem, Carolyne are you done?” I looked to Carolyne seeing her grinning from ear to ear. “Didn’t you say you want to go take a walk on the beach?” She looks at me confused. “Yes, you did, come let’s quickly pay and go.” I raised my hand to call the waiter to bring us our bill, but Nathan took my hand down.

“Where are you running to Amore?” He tilted his head giving me a side smile.
“Joe asked me to make sure you do not spend all your time at home, that’s why I asked you to accompany me. Why are you looking so flushed…? Having naughty thoughts about me there?”

At a time like this I wished I had powers, then I could just let myself disappear… poof… me…. GONE…
How did I find myself in such an awkward position?
Aaahhh, someone just kill me now…

“Uhm I… I…”

“Amore… just accompany me tomorrow and I will go pay the bill and we three can go walk on the beach. What do you say?” He leans towards me, the grin on his face almost reaching his ears.

“Okay yes… now stop doing what you’re doing.” I pushed him away from me.

“What am I doing?” He asked

I could not even slide out of the booth and run away. This big guy has me trapped between him and the window on my other side. I really wanted to slide down underneath the table and crawl out…

Nathan looked at me, winked, stood up and went to pay our bill. I looked at him shocked… turning my head to Carolyne.

“What’s with your face?” I pointed towards her face.

“You two are just too cute together.” She said while clapping her hands excitedly “You two make a perfect couple. I love it.”

“Carolyne, what the hell are you talking about we are not together. Why would he be interested in me?”

“Only time will tell Mia, only time will tell.” She stood up walking to the door, leaving me behind. What is this woman saying…? I quickly got up and followed behind her.

Nathan joined us and we walked to the beach.

It’s already afternoon. The sun shining brightly in the sky, its heat warming up our skin. Kids running around splashing water at each other, laughter filling the air. The waves kissing the rocks. The water letting the glimmer of light shine on it. Everything of the ocean is just magical.

We walked barefoot for a while on the sand enjoying the calmness the ocean brings. After a while we headed back to the car. Carolyne dropped me and Nathan at the house and went back to her apartment, she still needed to do something before tomorrow’s shoot.
