Walking to Aunt Beau's house, you finally stopped at the front door and opened it, Wade at your side.
The door opened and Aunt Beau held her breath.
After swiftly regaining her composure, she broke into a warm smile. "Well, hello there, my dear. It appears that you have brought some company along."
Deadpool quipped, playfully clutching his fanny pack and offering a dainty wave.
Feeling embarrassed, you shook your head and requested Aunt Beau's permission to go inside. Kindly, Aunt Beau moved aside, granting both of you access to enter the house.
Upon entering the house, it became apparent that it perfectly matched the mental image you had envisioned. It seemed to be the abode of an elderly woman, evident from the presence of three cats lounging around, the vintage frames hanging on the walls, and the unmistakable '90s aesthetic of the curtains and furniture.
However, as you observed these details, a thought crossed your mind - perhaps the old lady residing here has no direct association with the people who were after you.
"Nice home you have here," Wade started before taking a seat, putting his feet on the coffee table. "Does Hitler live here?" with a hint of admiration in his voice, he injected a touch of humor into the interaction.
You emitted a loud gasp, desperately attempting to divert the conversation, but your efforts proved futile as the timing was already beyond salvaging.
Aunt Beau wrinkled her nose in disapproval, clearly showing her dislike for the situation at hand. However, Wade was relentless and determined to get to the bottom of things. As a result, it was evident that an intense interrogation was about to take place.
"Here's your package, Aunt Beau."
With a smile on her face, she eagerly accepted the item and swiftly made her way to the kitchen, where she promptly turned on the kettle.
"Aren't you going to give us a cake?" Wade asked and you elbowed him hard.
Wade was hard to control.
Even harder in the bedroom...
Sensing his impatience, you playfully nudged him with a forceful elbow, trying to contain your laughter at his childlike enthusiasm.
"He means the cupcakes I just gave you. Don't mind, he's a bit greedy for cake," you finally added with a giggle that lightened the atmosphere at least a little.
"Yes, I love cake," he agreed but hinted otherwise.
Aunt Beau emitted a small sound to indicate her presence and moved nearer, clutching a knife in her grasp.
You stopped, your gaze fixated on her, a myriad of thoughts instantly inundating your mind. At that moment, you stole a fleeting glance at Wade, his expression already betraying his deep concern, mirroring the swirl of emotions within you.
"Do you want vanilla or chocolate?" Beau asked, going back into the kitchen to cut a cake she took out from the fridge.
Nevermind. Maybe you shouldn't be taking anything from Beau.
A bit revealed, you answered chocolate.
"Well, what flavor is in that package, hmm?" Wade asked.
"Oh, that's just for later," Beau replied.
After sneaking a brief look at Wade, he reciprocated the gesture before abruptly awakening. With astonishing ease, he stealthily retrieved a gun concealed behind his back.
"Open the package, lady," he commanded while intensely looking at her.
Beau raised her hands above her head, emitting an overwhelming sense of guilt that seemed to radiate from within her.
"Y/n, stop this fiasco. Just go away!"
You stood up, folded your hands, and raised an eyebrow. "We don't want trouble, Aunt Beau, but if you can tell us what's in that package, we'll leave."
"The package is empty and does not contain anything inside it."
Wade let out an exasperated sigh as he impatiently waved his gun, urging her to simply open the package without any further delay.
After a moment of hesitation, she mustered up the courage to throw the package into the air.
As it gracefully descended, Wade skillfully snatched it from mid-air. Without wasting any time, he swiftly tossed it in your direction, as if passing the baton in a relay race.
Eager with anticipation, you wasted no time in tearing away the tape, being cautious not to harm the contents concealed within the package. After discarding the packaging, all that remained was a mysterious black box. Nervously taking a deep breath, you cautiously began to open it, your heart racing with apprehension, fearful that the contents within could be so disturbing that you might instinctively hurl the box away.
Wade inquired curiously, his eyes straining to catch a glimpse.
As you gazed at the box, your forehead furrowed with concern upon seeing the mysterious white substance within it.
Was it flour?
Lowering your nose, you inhaled deeply and immediately wrinkled your nose.
"Cocaine," you whispered and bent down stiffing it again to make sure.
Yep, that was definitely cocaine.
You handed it to Wade and he was very familiar with the smell. Taking a few sniffs, he let out a content sigh. "I miss this smell."
Bringing your attention to Beau, a multitude of inquiries swarm your thoughts, demanding answers.
"Why do you have these drugs? I'm pretty sure it's not for you," you interrogated but she stayed quiet.
"She asked you a question, answer, " Wade warned with his gun.
"You should go now," Beau warned, sweat dripping down her brows.
This situation might be bigger than you had imagined. Why is Beau so afraid and nervous?
"Beau, you know something. Tell us. I have people after me and I need to know why. So whatever you know would help us."
Beau's fingers started shaking, and her gaze was shaky. "You have to return those drugs."
"Why?"
"Because I need to sell these drugs to someone very dangerous. It's all a business. Someone supplies me with this, and I supply someone else who is the leader. You don't have much time," she sighed and sat down, exhausted now. "I sold you for these drugs, y/n. I had no choice. "
Sold?
You were perplexed and all of this new information was hard to chew on. "Sell me? You don't even own me to sell me!" you shouted, anger coursing through your body.
"I sold the information. I told them where you live, I told them your age, I told them everything."
"What for?"
She shook her head. "You need to go now!"
However, there was no time left to react as a loud bang echoed through the air. In the blink of an eye, Beau's body crumpled to the ground, struck by a lethal bullet.
Wade came forward and shielded you with his body before you saw a black Audi driving away.
There are so many unanswered questions, and now there are so many drugs but there's no reason why she had them.
"We need to go," Wade said before pulling your hand.
