Wade burst through into the hallway, katanas in hand, with Angel by his side.
"Time to kick some ass, kiddo! We've got a room full of guards to get through."
Angel rolled her eyes. "Must you always state the obvious, Wade?"
"Hey, someone's got to keep things exciting around here," he replied, grinning.
As they walked forward, a horde of guards awaited them, armed to the teeth. They were an odd bunch, each sporting a shiny bald head, adorned with strange tattoos that seemed to shift and writhe like living serpents. Their eyes gleamed with an unsettling fervor, and their muscles bulged beneath their sleek black uniforms.
Wade chuckled. "Looks like we've got a welcoming committee! Angel, can you take care of the ones on the left? I'll handle the ones on the right."
Angel nodded, her eyes flashing with concentration. She raised her hands, and the guards on the left began to fly across the room, slamming into the walls with a series of sickening thuds. One guard's head cracked against a metal pipe, leaving a bloody smear behind.
Wade charged forward, katanas flashing in the dim light. "Time to get my ninja on!" He sliced through the guards with ease, his movements a blur. One guard swung a meaty fist, but he dodged it with a grin, striking back with a swift kick that sent the guard crashing into a nearby console.
Another guard lunged with a stun baton, but Wade parried it with his katana, sending sparks flying as the two weapons clashed. The guard stumbled back, eyes wide, as Wade landed a devastating kick that sent him crashing to the ground.
Angel's eyes never left the guards, her mind powers wreaking havoc on their ranks.
As the last guard fell, Wade turned to Angel and grinned. "See? I told you we make a great team."
Angel's expression remained stoic. "Let's just get this over with."
With the guards defeated, they approached the door to your room. Wade winked at Angel. "Time to rescue the damsel in distress!"
Angel broke the lock using her powers and gave Wade a nod, until they entered the room. Both were stunned.
It was a room filled with kids. They clothes were dirty and torn as they sat on their dirty beds. Probably about 7 in this one big room.
"There's two other rooms. I've just checked. Maybe about 17 kids all together.".
Wade shook his head in disbelief.
"You stay here and save the kids. I'll go look for y/n."
As Wade ran through the hallways, his usual joking demeanor had vanished, replaced by a sense of urgency and concern. He kicked down door after door, his katanas at the ready, but each room was empty.
"Where are you?" Wade muttered to himself, his eyes scanning each room with growing desperation. He had never felt this way before, this sense of responsibility and worry for someone else's safety.
Suddenly, he heard a faint noise coming from the end of the hall. It sounded like... whispering? Wade's instincts kicked in, and he crept towards the sound, his katanas poised for action.
As he approached the door, the whispering grew louder, and he could make out words. "Please... don't... hurt... me..."
"Y/n?"
Deadpool's grip on his katanas tightened, and he kicked down the door, ready to face whatever horrors awaited him.
Wade's eyes widened as he took in the scene before him.
Instead of the expected horror, he saw you bending down, an injection in hand as you shoved it into a woman's arm. The lady was limp on the ground, and then unconscious.
His gaze snapped to the injection, and his eyes narrowed. "Cocaine?"
You looked up, a hint of a smile on your face. "Wade."
His expression turned incredulous. "What the...? I was worried sick about you, and you're...?"
You shrugged, withdrawing the injection. "Your fighting lessons paid off. They tried to inject me with these drugs, but I managed to overpower them."
Deadpool's eyes scanned the room, taking in the scene. The guards were all down, some with visible injuries. He whistled. "Impressive. I didn't know you had it in you."
You smiled wryly. "Desperation's a great teacher."
He approached you, his katanas still in hand. "Well, I'm glad I didn't have to rescue you after all. But we're not out of here yet. We've got to get those kids and Angel, and get out."
You knew exactly what he was talking about. They had kids in here, drugged and used to clean up they dirty mess.
But then you heard a thump and saw Angel fall to the ground, a man in a grey suit standing on her shoulder, preventing her from moving.
Wade moved forward but you held on his arm.
"Well, I knew you were special but I didn't know you'd make such a mess," the man said while he scanned the room. "Well, atleast I don't have to pay them anymore."
The man in the grey suit smiled, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "I see you've found my little project."
"Project?" Deadpool repeated, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You mean the kiddie drug ring? Yeah, that's some top-notch villainy right there."
The man sneered, his eyes glinting with malice. "If you don't give me the girl, your friend here dies." He stomped on Angel's back, and she whimpered, her body limp.
"What did you do to her?" you demanded, trying to keep your voice steady.
"Ah, just a little something I like to call 'Eclipse'," he said, a smile spreading across his face. "It's a powerful sedative, and if I don't give her the antidote within the next hour, she'll be brain dead."
Wade's face twisted in rage, and he drew his katana. "You're not getting anyone else today, pal."
But before he could charge, a figure emerged from the shadows behind the man.
