"Wait, what happened?" Miguel asked as we walked to the door.

I sighed and looked at him. "He's been forgotten, Miguel. When there's no one left in the living world who remembers you... you disappear from this world." I told him gently.

"We call it the final death." Héctor added, and I placed a boney hand on his shoulder.

"Where did he go?" Miguel asked. "No one knows." I shrugged. "But I've met him. I could remember him when I went back!" Miguel smiled at us.

Héctor and I shook our heads María was sound asleep by now. "No, it doesn't work like that, chamaco." Héctor told him gently. "Our memories, they have to be passed down by those who knew us in life...in the stories they tell about us." Héctor adds. "But there's no one left alive to pass down Cheech's stories." I frowned.

Héctor finally smiles and puts a hand on Miguel's shoulder. "Hey, it happens to everyone eventually." He said, giving Miguel the guitar.

"Come on, de la Cruzito, you've git a contest to win." Héctor walked out with Miguel's dog. "Will that happen to you?" Miguel asked me.

I looked down at him. "Yes, eventually."

"And María?" He asked. I nodded slowly and led him out. "Let's not focus on that now." I said gently.

We're now on an aerial tramway. "You said you hated musicians. You never said you were musicians." Miguel told us.

"How do you think we knew your great-great-grandmother?" I laughed slightly as Marías eyes were open and looking around. "We used to play music together." Héctor added. "Y/n taught her everything she knows." My brother added, making me slap him with my free arm.

Miguel then looked at me. "No, manches! You played with Ernesta de la Cruz... the greatest musician of all time?" Miguel asked me as Héctor stums the guitar.

I laughed. "Oh, you're funny, Miguel. Greatest pecho of all time, maybe." I said sarcastically. "But his music? Eh, not so much." My brother agreed. Miguel waves us off. "You don't know what you're talking about." Making me roll my eyes.

I looked down and sighed. "Welcome to the Plaza de la Cruz!" My brother announced. "Yay." I scoffed.

"Show time chemaco." Héctor smiled, getting off and helping me down after.

The three jumped off before Héctor quickly helped me out while the tramway was still moving.

People were dancing to the music being played, which brought a smile to my face. Maria was officially awake. I saw a vendor named Roberto selling some baby dresses and walked over. "Hola, Roberto." I greeted. "Aye! Y/n old friend." He quickly and carefully hugs me. "How are you tonight, amiga?" He asks. "Believe me when I say I've been better." I sighed. "Aye, still no luck with that husband of yours?" He asked with a raised 'eyebrow'. "If I see that man, I promise you will slap him." I deadpan.

"On that wonderful note, let me give you a dress for little Maria." He gulps slightly as he looks through his things. He was muttering before he let's out a triumphant yell and walked back over. "Here you go, Y/n." He hands it to me in my left hand as I cradle Maria in my right.

"Oh Roberto, it's just beautiful." I smile at the colorful dress. "How much do I owe you?" I asked him. "It's free, amiga. Just think of this as a parting gift." He gives me a sad smile. My smile dropped slightly as I nodded and went to change Maria's clothes.
