WARNING: MENTIONS OF DEATH, POISON, AND CHILD DEATH
Flashback

A young, beautiful, alive Y/n was looking at her book of songs that she had written with Héctor. She really was missing her husband and son.

Y/n looks down at her beautiful new daughter, who was sleeping peacefully in a blanket. Y/n feels a smile come across her face at her baby, her María.

Héctor was packing their belongings. Ernesta sat on her bed across from Héctor looking at the pair in disbelief.

"You want to give up now?" Ernesta exclaims, with a baffled look on her usual smooth features. "When we are this close to achieving our dream?" She asks as the siblings make it to the door.

Y/n held María in her arms wrapped in a pink blanket. "This was your dream Ernesta. You'll manage without us," Y/n told her 'friend'.

Ernesta grabs y/ns arm. "I can't do this without your songs, Y/n," The raven head hisses, a pleading look on her face.

Y/n pulls her arm from the woman and holds María close. "I'm going home, Ernesta! I'm going home to my husband, who doesn't even know about our daughter," The h/c woman snaps back.

"Hate us if you want, but our minds are made up," Héctor adds as the two open the door.

"Oh, I could never hate you two," Ernesta states softly with a sincere look. "If you must go, then I'm sending you both off with a toast," She smiles as she walks to the nearby table.

Ernesta pours three drinks, one water for Y/n. She hands them the drinks as y/n shifts María into one arm.

"Two our friendship! I would move Heaven and Earth for you, mi amgios. Salud!"

The two siblings tilt their heads back as they drink, while across Ernestas face, a dark look shadows it.

The three were heading to the train station, as Ernesta insisted.

Héctor suddenly bent over in pain and grabs his stomach. "Héctor!" Y/n gasps as she kneels down next to him but cries out as she feels a sharp pain in her own stomach.

Ernesta places a hand on y/ns shoulder as she grabs Héctors guitar from Héctor. Y/n drops María and both siblings fall to the ground. María starts to sob, making Ernesta panic, and she grabs the baby.

Ernesta looks around and sees the nearby river and runs to it with María. "I'm sorry, little María, but your mama should've just stayed," Ernesta whispers and tosses the bundle into the flowing river below.
