We are not that powerful.

Because I was in that world of muggle war for 11 years before I knew about spells and trust me, I'd be more scared of getting blown to bits that I am for Incendio because spells can protect us from spells but a spell is useless in the face of muggle technology. I can easily cast something as simple as Protego or Agumenti and I will be completely unaffected by Incendio. Why don't you tell me how well a Protego will protect the people I love from a canon or bomb, or better yet a bullet? For everything that we have that we think is superior, they have something worse. And you know why? Because we don't have the things to protect us from them so while I see where you're coming from, I feel obliged to tell you that it is stupid. Your plan is stupid. You didn't take the time to study muggles and their technology so you don't know how far advanced it is but I have an idea and that is not even the high security weaponry that they have. That is so pale in comparison to what the governments are most definitely hiding. So no, Tom. We are not that powerful. We had a chance in the past, we lost. We are outnumbered greatly and we have nothing on them except the element of surprise and that's not enough because we don't have enough manpower to cover enough grounds to cause any serious damage before they find out and start fighting back."

I don't know where that came from but I think he had to hear it plain and straight. Sugar coating it was getting us nowhere.
