3rd person POV

The first few weeks of school have been kind to (Y/n). She's mostly avoided any one on two conversations with Ruby and Yang with no consequences, and Team JNPR has been good to her. Meanwhile, her weekends down in Vale go completely undisturbed

(Y/n):
Cheer up, Jaune. Not all leaders fight.

Jaune:
That's not making me feel better.

(Y/n):
You have to give me props for trying. The only other thing I could do was fight him myself. And that'd just be bullying.

Pyrrha:
(Y/n)!

Jaune:
No, she has a point. I can't let you guys fight my battles. You're supposed to be able to rely on your leaders.

Ren:
You're not expected to be an expert so soon.

Nora:
Yeah, you've only been a leader for a few weeks.

Jaune:
Thanks, guys. It means a lot.

(Y/n):
Who knows. Maybe you just need some more training.

Ren:
Does that mean you'll also help.

(Y/n):
I mean, I could try. But my fighting style relies on already knowing what my opponent is going to do and improvising.

Pyrrha:
That would be quite difficult without your semblance or impressive senses and years of experience.

Ren:
Fair enough.

Jaune:
Thanks, but I should do this by myself.

The team enters the cafeteria and (Y/n) spots Cardin and his team far across the room

(Y/n):
I'll be back. I have to handle something.

She starts to walk off

Nora:
What is it?

(Y/n):
Nothing that you shouldn't expect from me.

Ren:
We don't know what to expect from you.

(Y/n):
Really? That's unfortunate

She leaves the team to ponder

Pyrrha:
She's really worrying.

Ren:
Incredibly so.

They get their lunches and join a table with Team RWBY

Jaune:
Hey guys.

Ruby:
Hey Jaune. Are you okay after earlier?

Jaune:
Totally. Why wouldn't I be?

Yang:
Cardin did beat you pretty bad.

Jaune:
Come on. He was just messing around.

Weiss:
That is a very liberal way of putting it.

Ruby:
He's a bully.

Jaune:
Really, it's fine. Besides, I'm not the only person Cardin's a jerk to.

He points out Cardin, who is currently on his way to harass his upperclasswomen, Velvet, when a banana is slid across the floor and directly in his path. He cartoonishly slips on it and falls onto his back. The culprit, (Y/n), then hits a tray that was leaning off a table, sending the slice of pie on it flying and lands on the bully's face, pouring salt on his wounded pride

The students who are not in shock by this display struggle to contain their laughter as (Y/n) passes by her, giving a thumbs up, which she hesitantly returns before both of them head to their teams and (Y/n) pulls out her boxed lunch
