Chapter Nine

One Month Later

Wyatt's POV

Its been a month since Steffy came back and I have to admit ever since I offered her line back and with no strings, things has become a lot better around. I could almost even say that we were becoming friends. I was interrupted within my thoughts by the sound of the phone ringing. I looked at the caller idea to see it was Dad. I decided to answer before he shows up here. So I picked up.

"Dad." I said.

"Son, you and Steffy hooked up yet?" Dad asked and I laughed.

"Oh man you are not going to let this go are you?" I asked.

"No, I liked having Steffy as a daughter in law and I do believe the two of you would make a dynamic duo so I'm going to be on you until you see the potential I do." He said and I could hear his smirk from ovdr the phone.

"Well you're going to be waiting along time." I said.

"That's okay it doesn't matter because it's going to happen eventually." Dad said and I laughed at his prisistance.

"Anyway I was calling to ask if you found have a date for the gala tomorrow?" He asked.

"Hey Wyatt I was just wondering.." Steffy said as she entered but she quickly stopped when she saw I was on the phone. I thought maybe it was a sign. As she was about to back track outside I acted impulsively to stop her.

"Hey Steffy wait up. " I said and she stopped and came back in.

"Ohh Steffy tell me whether she agrees or not." Dad said.

"Bye Dad." I said and laughed.

"Bill?" She asked laughing.

"Yeah." I answered laughing.

"Anyway what did you wany to talk to me about?" I asked her.

"Ohh Nothing it's about the lingerie line it can wait." She said and was turning to leave.

"Steffy wait!" I said and she stopped.

"Yes?" She asked.

" I wanted to ask you if maybe you would like to come with me to a gala tomorrow. " I said as I stood up and walked towards her with no idea why I was so nervous.

"Like as your date?" She asked.

"Purly platonic, its just that the only girls I know are Ivy, Ally, Caroline, You and Vicky. Ivy is going with Liam of course and I either go with my future step sister and be considered utterly lame since Caroline is already going with her boyfriend and Vicky is off in Hawaii with Carter trying to get inspired with the surfers and all." I said.

"So I'm your last resort?" She asked seeming confused.

"No no no I didn't mean it like that. Wait let me start again." I said backtracking to come up with a better way to go about this.

"Yeah I think its best if you did." She said which was something I already agreed on.

"Steffy there is this incredibly boring Gala tomorrow night full of assholes who I will end up strangling if you let me go alone. But with you there with me. It might actually be fun." I asked improvising most of it and she came closer to me and placed the file on the desk.

"See asking properly isn't so hard now is it. When does it start?" She said and then asked.

"Eight." I answered.

"Pick me up at Seven then." She said and strutted out of the office with both grace and sass.

Seven O'Clock The Next Day

Steffy sent me her address and l went over to her apartment and knocked on the door and she opened it wearing a beautiful green gown and I stared at her in awe.

"You done staring?" She asked shocking me back to reality.

"Oh Yeah I'm sorry its just you look beautiful." I said.

"I bought you this." I said revealing the corsage I had behind my back.

"You don't have to wear it." I assured her but she offered me her hand to put it on anyways.

"And look its green and matches my dress." She said.

"And your eyes." I added but then I realized I maybe taking it to far so I just offered her my hand and she took it. We went to the car and spent the entire car ride laughing and making hilarious plans on how to get out of the really boring conversations. We arrived at the gala and talked to three different people but the last one was truly boring and Steffy noticed I was about to rip my hair out.

"Sir,I think your wife is looking for you." She came up with two glasses of champagne in her hands.

"Oh thank you honey." He said and left. She handed me my glass and we went over to Caroline and Sky's table.

"I'm either going to strangle each and everyone of these people or I'm going to strangle myself and get it over with." I complained and they all laughed.

"Dude you've been around them two years, we three have been around them for our entire lives,don't complain. " Sky warned me and I laughed.

"Ladies and Gentlemen." The announcer said and everyone turned their attention towards them.

"I would like to welcome all the way from Italy. Mr Alejandro Abelli and his wife Hope Logan Abelli!" The announcer said shocking everyone in to looking at the door where Hope and her husband entered along with Rick and Maya. I saw my ex wife for the first time in nearly two years and I was shocked.
